A message from our CHAIR
After COVID our amateur community found itself without a home, KEVI wouldn’t allow us to use the school any more, a place that had been our temporary home whilst Spilsby Theatre was being refurbished. Despite many years using the school they threw every excuse imaginable as to why we couldn’t put on a show.
We were then faced with a disheartening situation close the group down or find a way to keep going. As this is a community organisation, allowing individuals of all ages and walks of life a chance to build confidence, have fun and be part of something special we choose the latter. Deciding on trialing murder mysteries, the idea behind it was we can rehearse easily - massive thanks to Nelson Butt and The Red Lion for lending us their spaces - and we can use other people’s venues to perform.
A special shout goes out to Irby and Bratoft Village Hall for taking a chance on us and allowing us to perform our first foray into this area (with huge success I might add), off the back of this success they insisted we return 💖 which we did on Friday to another roaring success!
Off the back of the first success we were offered the chance to perform at Angela Landlady Hundleby Inn to another successful show!
We have been asked by another 5 venues to put one on for them around Spilsby and surrounding areas and with this confidence that we can keep going we would like to offer you the chance to join us!
Whether behind the scenes or on the stage we need support, this was built to bring community together, and having needed support of a theatre group myself in early teens I fully understand its importance!
On Wednesday we are holding our AGM a chance for locals to help and guide its direction- so come along and be part of something special 💖💖
