How did Bro Pro UK start?

Like many great things in life, it started with a conversation.

A conversation in a pub. Another conversation during a gentle walk. A few ideas shared between men who believed there had to be a better way to support other men in their community. Those conversations turned into plans, and those plans led to opening the doors of what is now our Spilsby location for just two hours on a Friday evening.

That first night, 15 men walked through the door.

Five years later, more than 2,000 men have accessed Bro Pro UK. Hundreds of men continue to engage with the project every week, whether that's through our weekly locations, online support, WhatsApp messages, social events, one-to-one meet-ups, or simply by being part of the brotherhood that has been built along the way.

People often ask us, "What's next for Bro Pro UK?"

The honest answer is that you decide.

Bro Pro UK has always been led by the men who access it. We listen, we learn, and we adapt to what our community needs. Every location, every event, every conversation and every step forward has been shaped by the men who walk through our doors and trust us with their stories.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has played a part in this journey. From those early conversations that planted the seed, to every volunteer who gives up their time today, every supporter, every fundraiser, and every man who has ever walked through our doors. Bro Pro UK isn't built by one person or a small group of people. It is built by a brotherhood of men who continue to show up for one another, week after week, year after year.

Together, we've created something special.

And we're only just getting started.

A huge thank you to Jacky, who took on the incredible challenge of walking three-quarters of the Viking Way throughout May to raise money for Bro Pro UK. Through determination, commitment, and plenty of miles on the trail, Jacky has raised an amazing £908 to support our work in communities across Lincolnshire and beyond.

Every pound raised helps us continue providing safe spaces for men to connect, talk, and access support when they need it most. We are incredibly grateful for Jacky's efforts and the generosity of everyone who donated along the way. What is a brother?

A brother isn't always family. A brother is someone who listens without judgement, stands beside you through life's challenges, celebrates your victories, and reminds you that you don't have to carry everything on your own. Brotherhood is built on trust, respect, honesty and genuine connection. It's knowing that when life gets tough, there's someone in your corner who cares enough to ask how you're doing and stick around to hear the answer.

That's exactly what Bro Pro is all about. Through our weekly locations, WhatsApp support, social events and one-to-one meetups, we're here to help men find connection, friendship and support. If you're not quite ready to walk through the door of a session, we'll happily meet for a coffee and a chat first. Sometimes all we need is someone who will listen, and that's what we're here for. Even if all you ever do is follow our social media and find comfort, encouragement or strength in our posts, then we're still here for you. June is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month, but for us at Bro Pro UK, awareness isn't just for one month of the year. Every day, every week, and every month, we stand alongside men who may be struggling, offering a safe space to talk, be heard, and know that they are never alone. A simple conversation can change a life, and sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is check in with a mate and ask, "Are you really OK?"

If you or someone you know is finding things difficult, please reach out. Bro Pro UK is here to listen, support, and walk alongside you. If you need urgent mental health support, the NHS Mental Health Crisis Line is available 24 hours a day by calling 111 and selecting Option 2. No matter what you're facing, there is always someone ready to listen. Know your worth, guys, stay gold, and remember—looking out for your bro could make all the difference. 💛

At BroPro UK, we are passionate about working in partnership with organisations that share our vision of building stronger, healthier communities and raising awareness around mental health and su***de prevention. Over the past year, we have been proud to work alongside the Stuart Elias Foundation and Talkstick, two incredible organisations that are making a real difference within golf and hockey clubs across Lincolnshire.

Through these partnerships, we have been able to deliver su***de awareness workshops to men within sporting communities, providing simple but potentially life-saving guidance on how to start difficult conversations, ask the right questions, and support friends, teammates, and colleagues who may be struggling. We also help people recognise the signs that someone may not be coping, particularly when they are not ready or able to talk openly about what they are experiencing.

Sport has a unique ability to bring people together, and by taking these conversations into clubs and community spaces, we are helping to break down stigma and encourage men to look out for one another. Every conversation matters, and every opportunity to raise awareness has the potential to save a life.

It has been a fantastic partnership over the last year, and we are incredibly grateful for the support, passion, and commitment shown by everyone involved. We look forward to continuing this important work together and reaching even more communities in the years ahead.

What an incredible way to celebrate the first birthday of BroPro Boston! From the laughter and conversations to the mountains of Jaffa Cakes (including an amazing homemade Jaffa Cake!), it was a fantastic day spent in the company of an incredible Brotherhood. Seeing so many men come together to support one another, share experiences, and build lasting friendships reminds us exactly why BroPro exists.

As we celebrate this milestone, we also look forward to the future and the many memories still to be made. Our next big celebration will be on 4th July as BroPro Manby reaches its first birthday too! Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey so far. Here's to many more years of friendship, support, and community. Know your worth and stay gold guys.
