Started in 2012 by Rachel Liggitt and Ray Jacobs, Shropshire Inclusive Dance is a shared space to celebrate dance in Shropshire. We organise workshops, classes, projects and performances in an inclusive environment. As a charity we wish for Shropshire to be a place where dance can thrive and where expertise, ideas, resources and the joy of moving together can be shared.

SiD’s new short dance animations ‘Picture This’ will be premiered online on Friday 23rd October at 7.30pm on the SiD YouTube Channel.

Three dancemakers with disabilities have created the stories and choreography for these short dance animations. The stories reflect their lives, feelings and artistic voice. They have worked with animator Eugenia Hamilton to bring their work to life and to share their artistry on the screen with you.

Today we have a focus on Chris Henley’s animation. It is called ‘When I’m Dancing…’ where the dancer feels he can become so many things when he dances and most importantly, he feels when he dances he can be truly himself.

We bring you exciting news about the launch of Shropshire Inclusive Dance digital dance makers project ‘Picture This’.

SiD’s new short dance animations ‘Picture This’ will be premiered online on Friday 23rd October at 7.30pm on the SiD YouTube Channel. There is a link in the comments.

These powerful and joyful short dance animations are a must watch!

‘Picture this’ features three dance animations created by SiD Dancemakers ; Beth Gardiner, Chris Henley and Mervyn Bradley in collaboration with animator Eugenia Hamilton.

You can set a reminder by visiting our channel (link in comments)

At 7.30pm the film showing all three animations will be screened on the YouTube channel. Followed by the release of each individual film at 7.45pm.

Make sure you visit the channel about 5 minutes before the screening to ensure you are ready to watch and participate in any live comments in the build-up to the premiere.

Tell all your friends about the premiere so we can reach as many people as possible and share any SiD posts on Facebook and Instagram about the screening.

It’s been so great to welcome some new members into our Thrive dance sessions on a Wednesday at Hive Shrewsbury 🙌

We have seen lots of energy, enthusiasm and creativity in the room. Keep it up guys!

We had a great morning dancing with members and staff of Clynfyw Care Farm as part of our residency in West Wales with Maynard.

We have been dancing with members and staff of Clynfyw care farm annually for quite a few years and the friendship, connections and dancing just gets stronger.

Huge thanks to the group for participating so fully, we had a ball, so much energy, laughter, sharing and some brilliant and soulful dancing..... the lunch was also yummy.

The SiD team were Rachel, Ray, Merv and Chloe working alongside Stirling, Holly and Simon from Maynard and My Moves plus all the Clynfyw gang.

We look forwards to dancing with everyone again.
