Günther Bedson is taking on an incredible challenge in support of Lingen Davies Cancer Support. He has a sponsorship link in the below post if you'd like to follow his progress and support the cause...

How far could you walk without sleep?
Three weeks from today I will attempt my most ambitious ramble to date: 75 miles (120km) in 36 hours with no sleep! I took up walking seriously 6 years ago. I am 60 years old.
The route will be the entire length of the Shropshire Way Main Route North – a loop that starts and ends at the Kingsland Bridge in Shrewsbury. On the map here that is stages 10b + 11 / 12 / 13 / 14 / 15. The official guidebook of the Shropshire Way divides the trail into five individual day walks varying in distance from 12 – 17 miles each. I intend to combine these walks into one enormous trek! The route takes in many highlights of lesser-known northern Shropshire including Haughmond Abbey, Grinshill, Wem, three canals, Ellesmere and the Shrophire Lake District, the Welsh border town Llanymynech, the River Vyrnwy, Melverley Church, Nescliffe and Montford Bridge, culminating in a final stretch along a picturesque part of the River Severn back into Shrewsbury.
Madness? Probably.
But my motivation is not only the distance itself, but also to support a good cause. I’m fundraising for the Lingen Davies Sunflower Appeal, which will finance the development of a new and much-needed cancer treatment centre at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford. Please read the whole story in the link below. I would be delighted if you’d consider donating! If you can’t donate, please share this post with people, who you think might. Thanks!
