Green City Action Green City Action is an established and award winning environmental charity working in Burngreave, Sheffield. Everybody welcome!

We are currently running an allotment session every Thursday, 10am - 1pm. Come along to learn about and gain experience of growing organic food, meet new people, get involved.

It starts with Environmental mindfulness and ends with community togetherness!
Great things happening with youth football at the moment . Kids and youth training on Abbeyfield park and Harleston fields . Talks about Burngreave United having permanent fixtures at the latter .
Maybe don’t train in boots ! The baby grass can’t stand it! The goal mouth mud is over whelming and the dust blows all the pitch away in the summer . Dads and mums can form pitch repair clubs !things to do! Put divits back after each game . Re seed in spring and September. Re turf if necessary ! Be mindful of plastic and water bottles . Take them home . Move goal mouths for training . Thanks to all the kids of Holtwood, Roe lane and Abbeyfield primary school for helping out! The feet pounding the soft grass are many and powerful! We've got the last family playgroup session before it's back to school times next week on the 25th August!

Link in the comments to book a ticket. Have a lovely nature time with your kids (from 2-10years old) on the community allotment. Kids can get involved with gardening, outdoor play and nature inspired art activities with Jo Veal 🌿🖍.

It’s drop-in, so rock up whenever suits you and your little ones between 10am - 1pm. All families and caregivers are welcome.
Equipment, refreshments and snacks provided. We can't promise snacks if you do not book at least 3 days in advance though.

Please wear suitable footwear and clothes that can get mucky. Don’t be put off by bad weather, sessions will only be cancelled if there are safety risks associated with the weather.

Perfect for families with children up to 10 years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Sessions only cost between £2 and £5 and you only need one ticket per family. Tickets are available via link in the comments below.

We pick litter cos it’s fun! You get outside and have some exercise ! It’s a great way to make community too! How fast are you ? How careful? Do you miss anything? What wildlife do you encounter ? How many birds do you hear? How many species did you see? Bring the family to our next skip day and litter pick at Pitsmoor Adventure Playground ! We think you’ll love it !
