📢Volunteer Puppy Socialisers urgently needed!

At Support Dogs we don't use kennels for our puppies and dogs in training, we rely on amazing people that give their time towards raising and caring for these future life-savers 💙

A real barrier to helping more families and individuals in the UK is the shortage of volunteers. For this reason we are in urgent need of more heroic volunteers ready to take on the incredibly rewarding role of Puppy Socialiser 🐾

Can you help?

We are very excited to introduce one of our newest pups in training, the absolutely adorable Albus 🤩

This happy little guy was lovingly named by our pals at Rightmove after some brilliant fundraising

Their incredible support will allow us to put Albus through his training to become a life-changing assistance dog, for autism, epilepsy, or disability 💙

Thank you Rightmove and welcome to Team Support Dogs little Albus! 🐾

We are celebrating here 🥳 The wonderful Rajwinder and Rocky paid our new centre a visit to see our sign in all its glory and to see that our brand new roof is now complete!

This means that work can now truly begin on the inside! 🏠

☝️First on the list is the creation of our charity’s first ever purpose built training arena.

Thank you so much all to all our wonderful supporters and donors have got us to this stage and we can’t wait to be able to invite you to come and visit 🐾

As this next stage of work begins, we’ll be launching an appeal for funds to support the creation of our specialised purpose-built dog health and welfare area.

So keep an eye out for how you can help this exciting project 👀

Epilepsy affects over 100,000 children and young people in the UK impacting the brain of a person that is still developing 🧠

On top of this, the effect of being a young person with epilepsy on mental health and ability to live life to its fullest, is why we accept entry to our Seizure Alert Dog Programme from age 15 and up*👩‍👦

Offering a life-changing and life-saving alert up to an hour before an epileptic seizure - meaning you can get back to living your best life

❓Could you apply for our seizure alert programme?

Its national rescue dog day 🐕 So let’s check in on our latest rescue recruit Maya!

🌸Maya's currently learning all of her taskwork, especially the washing machine, picking things up and opening doors.

💬Trainer Emily says 'She's very enthusiastic about everything she does. Her foster carer and I have been taking her to a lot of school visits and events, she likes meeting people!'

🐾Occasionally a dog can be more suited to being a lovely pet rather than a working assistance dog

We are looking for special people who are able to provide a permanent home to our dogs that sadly have had to be withdrawn from our training programme due to specific medical or behavioural needs.

📢We are particularly looking for people who are at home for most of the day and don’t have young children. You would need to have the capacity to ensure the dog receives the specific, required care -including medical care- and you would receive the support of our training team as the dog is introduced to your home.

⚠️The dog’s health requirements may also limit mobility, so wouldn't be suitable for those who enjoy long hikes or intense physical activity.

If you are interested in adopting one of our amazing dogs who sadly cannot finish their training please get in touch.
