World doubles champion Billy Shilton took gold in the men’s class 8 singles at the ITTF World Para Future Lahti in Finland and among the promising performances from some of the British Para Table Tennis Pathway athletes Jacob Wicks took bronze on his debut in men’s class 4-5 and Max Flint took bronze in men’s class 9-10.

Will Bayley and Aaron McKibbin followed up their wins in the ITTF World Para Challenger Spokane last week by taking gold in the men’s class 7 and men’s class 8 singles respectively at the ITTF World Para Elite Spokane in Washington State, USA. Joshua Stacey (men’s class 9) and Fliss Pickard (women’s class 6) took silver and there were also bronze medals for Paul Karabardak (men’s class 6) and Bly Twomey (women’s class 7).

A squad of seven British Para Table Tennis Team athletes won seven medals at the ITTF World Para Challenger Spokane in Washington State, USA including three golds in the singles for Will Bayley (men's class 7), Aaron McKibbin (men's class 8)and Joshua Stacey (men's class 9) and gold in the men's class 18 doubles for Aaron McKibbin and Joshua Stacey.

The doubles events came to a close earlier today with the highlights being silver medals for Aaron McKibbin & Joshua Stacey (MD18) and Billy Shilton & Martin Perry (MD14). The team earned seven medals in the singles and doubles events in the final Elite tournament before qualification for the World Championships closes at the end of July.

Five singles medals for BPTT at the ITTF World Para Elite Nakhon Ratchasima 🇹🇭

The singles tournament concluded earlier today, with the highlight being a gold medal from Bly Twomey, defeating World No.1 Lethicia Lacerda BRA in the semifinal and World Champion Kubra Korkut TUR in the final, completing back-to-back tournament wins in Thailand. The team now shifts its focus to the doubles events, which will commence shortly.

The ITTF World Para Elite Nakhon Ratchasima Squad 🇹🇭

The final Elite tournament before qualification for the World Championships closes at the end of July commences tomorrow with the singles events. A squad of 14 British athletes will compete in the tournament, which features a strong entry, all looking to gain valuable ranking points for World Championship qualification and seeding.
