📢The River Don Engine is currently out of action due to a boiler leak so won't run today or this weekend.

We’re sorry for any disappointment if you were hoping to visit over the next few days. Our Historic Engineering team are working to repair this and we hope to have the engine back in steam as soon as possible.

Lives in Focus: Photography in Sheffield’s Collection, our latest exhibition, is open now at the Graves Gallery.

Celebrate photography’s unique power to reveal connections across generations, geographies and shared histories.

This is a new acquisition for the city’s collection and has been generously supported by funding from the JG Graves Charitable Trust, Arts Council England/V&A Purchase Grant Fund and Art Fund.

Plans for the bank holiday weekend? 🍂

Join us for our final Family Workshop at Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet for the summer on Sat. We'll be making textile rag wreaths! You'll learn how to turn fabric waste into a work of beauty and make your own sustainable wreath! Tickets cost £7.50, and the workshop is suitable for all ages - perfect for families to experience together! (more info in link in comments).

It's also set to be a lovely weekend for a woodland stomp to Shepherd Wheel Workshop, where you can experience the working waterwheel and machinery in action, see the tools of the trade and hear stories about the grinders who worked here over the centuries!

The River Don Engine will not be running on Thursday, Saturday or Sunday this week. We’re sorry if you were hoping to see it in steam then.

We're carrying out some essential maintenance on the boiler burner on Thursday 27 August and we’re unable to run the engine over the upcoming weekend due to staff illness.

The engine will run as normal on Friday. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
