Flags of Remembrance flying in Winscombe- Lest We Forget- honouring the fallen in all conflicts. Role of honour from last 2 world wars- Service and wreath laying at the War Memorial at St James Church - on the hill- Service starts 10:50 am on Sunday 9th.

The main event Thursday 8th May- in Winscombe, at The Church Centre, 52 Woodborough Rd, Bs25 1BA from 6:30 pm.

To mark The Victory in Europe 80th Anniversary- Winscombe and Sandford Festival and flags group- welcomes every one.

Let’s gather and mark this occasion. Church Bells special ringing at St James at 6:30 pm, Centre Doors open at 6:30 pm . A Bar is available. A World War 2 presentation starts at 7:30 pm.

Pop up choir with sing along follows- then all out side for beacon lighting and tributes

The Beacon Lighting and parade of uniformed organisations and flags, will take place at 9:15 pm, in the front car park of The Church Centre, Please note no car parking at the Centre. For disabled access parking you need to arrive by 7:00 and can only park at the rear car park- spaces limited.

Lovely VE posters from Winscombe Primary School- 210 being displayed in the shops and high street. A week of events start this Saturday. Exhibition opens at 1:00.- free event with some lovely articles from local families. 😁🇬🇧
