🧵✨ This Week at Textile Club ✨🧵

Another wonderful afternoon of creativity and conversation at Textile Club!

Some members put the finishing touches to their beautiful embellished flower projects, adding delicate fibres, sparkle and texture to create stunning blooms. 🌸✨

Meanwhile, others began our exciting new project exploring the traditional Japanese art of Sashiko stitching. Using simple running stitches, members started creating striking floral patterns and discovering how this mindful technique can be used for both decoration and visible mending. 🪡

One of the things we love most about Textile Club is that everyone works at their own pace, following their own creative journey while sharing ideas and inspiration along the way.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this week—we’re looking forward to seeing the Sashiko pieces develop over the coming weeks!

What an amazing day 2 we had at the Cheddar Arts Trail!

In the sessions has a gentle theme to help people explore, experiment and try new things with textiles — but there’s no pressure to follow it. Come with an idea, or come with none at all.

We’re back after a month off — and what a creative restart it was! 🎨✨
This week, the Cheddar Textile Group took on a three-colour abstract challenge to loosen up and explore where the brushstrokes took us. Each mini artwork is bursting with energy and colour, and soon we’ll be embellishing them with stitch to create small textile artworks.

No rules, just creativity — that’s our motto.
A friendly, welcoming space to experiment, chat, and enjoy a cuppa together every Tuesday, 10–12 ☕🧵
