We are pleased to share an event that is taking place on 12 July to raise money for our charity which will be put towards research where we one day hope to find a cure for those suffering from psoriatic disease.

"Join me at Ultra White Collar Boxing in Maidstone and support a great cause!I’ve been living with a hidden disability, Psoriatic Arthritis, for over 15 years. It’s a chronic autoimmune condition where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks healthy joints and skin, causing inflammation, stiffness, and often severe pain. At its worst, even taking a deep breath can trigger sharp pain, and getting up becomes a challenge. The condition tends to focus its attacks on my hands, hips, spine, and neck, making everyday tasks difficult when the pain is present.I was fortunate to receive an early diagnosis and be offered treatment quickly. I have take weekly immune‑suppressing medication, Methotrexate, for many many years through self‑injection. While it helps prevent further joint damage and keeps my immune system from attacking my body, it comes with its own difficulties. For 24 hours after each dose, I deal with nausea, headaches, brain fog, and extreme fatigue. It’s draining to manage these side effects while working and trying to live a normal life but they’re still better than the uncontrolled pain.I’m raising funds for The Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Alliance, an organisation that provides research, support, and guidance for people living with the condition. So yes, deciding to step into a boxing ring while dealing with a condition that makes my joints stiff and painful may seem a bit silly. But honestly, a few taps to the head are nothing compared to the years of pain I’ve quietly fought behind closed doors. Exercise helps my body produce the “good stuff” that keeps me moving physically and mentally, and if I can use this challenge to raise money that supports research and helps others, then every jab will be worth it"...

If you would like to help support Alex you can do so by donating on his dedicated page at https://givestar.io/gs/ultra-white-collar-boxing-fundraising-72169?userId=5fc159bf-9d7d-4399-bc51-f327bbc4f89d&activationCode=b9deb32c-17f0-43f7-94dc-bcb0bac49be5

Any donation, big or small will help to fund research that will hopefully find a cure for psoriatic disease.

☀️ Sunshine and psoriasis – finding the right balance

Did you know that for some people, sunlight can help improve their psoriasis symptoms?

A little sunshine may be beneficial, but it is very important to stay safe in the sun.

Always wear SPF, avoid burning, stay hydrated.

Everyone's skin is different, so it's important to find what works for you.

We'd love to hear from you, does sunshine help your psoriasis, or do you find hot weather makes your symptoms worse?

💊 Treatment journeys are not one-size-fits-all

Everyone’s experience with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis is different, and so is the path to finding the right treatment.

From creams and topical treatments to systemic medications and biologics, what works for one person may not work for another. And sometimes, it takes time to find the right fit.

If you’re struggling or unsure about your treatment, you don’t have to manage it alone.

Speak to your healthcare provider, where you will find support and guidance is available, and adjustments may help improve your symptoms and quality of life.

Have you had to adjust or change your treatment along the way? Share your experience below, it might help someone else feel less alone today.
