Wicket Brood

Wicket Brood We practice at The St Stephen Parish Centre, Station Road, Bricket Wood, Herts AL2 3PJ currently on

A show by Wicket Brood is a thrilling and spectacular experience for both performer and audience alike. We are a mixed Morris Dancing Side and we principally perform dances in the Border Morris tradition. We are active throughout the year performing at major UK folk festivals as well as events overseas. In 2009 we performed at the Prague Folklore Days festival and in 2010 we traveled to Canada where we were very honoured to open and close the annual Toronto Morris Ale.

POV: Clifton

Having younger members in your side gives you the opportunity to try different things.
Here is a POV (point of view, for those not in the know) of one of our dances, Clifton.

Wicket Brood are larger than life characters but have you seen us as miniatures?

Curtesy of a fantastic model maker and on view in the window of Tiddely On Pom Pom in Sheringham town centre we can now be found in miniature.

Can you guess the dance and any of the dancers or musicians? There is also one mistake, which may be more challenging to find.

So it's goodbye Sheringham until next year as we wend our weary way back to Hertfordshire. We've had an amazing time and met so many brilliant sides. Thanks to everyone who organised this very special weekend - see you at the next one!

Oh we do like to be beside the seaside!

We're back at one of our favourite events in the dance calendar - Sheringham Potty Festival . Warm sunshine, fabulous audiences, beautiful town, all infused with the spirit of Morris as the town is filled with music and dance.

What could be better?

What a fantastic afternoon we had at Datchworth Village Fete! A really appreciative crowd, which really spurred us on, lots of lovely stalls, and a lovely location to dance in. We really had a blast! πŸ’šπŸ’œπŸ–€

We've had the best day at Letchworth Festival today. It wasn't exactly 'flaming June' and it did rain, but hey, we're made of strong stuff. Dancing with Red Cuthbert Morris, Hicca Hoodlums and, of course, Letchworth Morris , we kept ourselves warm by bringing some Morris action to the good folk of Letchworth.

The rain held off as we returned to one of our longstanding dance out venues. Good fun was had by all.πŸ’šπŸ’œπŸ–€

Jack in the Green, Hastings

Day Three - Procession Day

Wow! What a fantastic procession, the crowds were huge, the weather glorious and at the halfway point we stopped right outside a pub 🍺

We also danced on stage for the crowds up on the stage. A shorten version of our new dance, Border Clash, written by our own Sue
