We kicked off our summer season of Step Up days with the Year 6 pupils at St Albans and St Stephenโ€™s School this week. It was a really lovely day, the students were engaged and interested and it was great chatting with them about their hopes and fears for when they start secondary school.

The school was very welcoming and we enjoyed a delicious school lunch and even took a peep at their temporary swimming pool they have installed in the car park!!!!

Thank you to Chris, Helena, Geoff, John, Manjit, Claire and our work experience student for all their hard work today! Super stars the lot of you ๐ŸŒŸ!

Geoff and I had a great time visiting Ashley Church, to let them know about our "Love Your Enemy" campaign. Geoff explored the story of Joseph and helped us ponder how Joseph was able to forgive his brothers for the harm they caused him. We then broke into small groups and discussed the day to day challenges of loving our enemies, which led to some very vulnerable and open conversations. The service closed with a time of personal reflection, where members were encouraged to write the initials of someone they had a challenging relationship with on a piece of paper and bring it to the cross. Thank you Ashley Church for welcoming us and joining in so beautifully. We are so grateful for the prayers, provision and volunteers you bless us with.

We had a brilliant Year 9 Step Day with Nicholas Breakspear exploring the theme of Justice ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Our hope for the day was simple โ€” that students would leave with a real fire in their belly to stand up and positively act when they see injustice around them.

Throughout the day, students rotated around workshops exploring Fairtrade, prejudice, and the experiences of refugees, alongside a Justice reflective mat which helped cement the learning and create space for deeper reflection.

Our day started with great games led by our fantastic Townsend work experience student ๐Ÿ‘, and the day finished with thoughtful reflections from Father Fidelis.

A powerful day full of challenge, compassion, and hope.

We had two brilliant days with the Year 10s at Nicholas Breakspear ๐Ÿ™Œ

From getting creative with pottery, to diving into our Life Auction (where students bid on what mattered most to themโ€ฆ before discovering just how valuable they are to God), it was full of energy, reflection, and some powerful moments.

There was loads of connection through games, and students also got a great taster of the upcoming Haven Hope course happening in school soon.

A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers who made the days run so smoothly, and to three fantastic Loreto girls ๐ŸŒŸ on work experience who stepped up and led key parts of the programme so brilliantly ๐Ÿ‘

Two days full of fun, depth, and impact. ๐Ÿฅณ

I wonder what the words 'escaping reality' mean to you - lying on the beach on a tropical island? Maybe hiking or rafting in the mountains, admiring stunning views? Perhaps reading a book with a cuppa? Or maybe something completely different? This was the theme that a group of Year 12 students explor...

We had a fantastic day with Year 8 from Loreto at our iMatter retreat day.

We started with some high energy games and snacks which were super fun.๐Ÿคฉ

The students then engaged brilliantly with four different sessions: our iMatter mat, an interactive workshop about body image called โ€œFearfully and wonderfullyโ€, โ€œ Life is a journeyโ€ where they made bracelets and Helenaโ€™s new session called โ€œI am loved.โ€ ๐Ÿฅฐ

At the end of the day we gathered in the chapel and they heard the beautiful message that they are of great worth to God because of who they are and because of what Jesus has done for them on the cross, before being gifted an iMatter journal to take home .

Thank you to all the team for helping make the day so successful, and to God who opened doors for some fantastic conversations.
