Our team work with more than 600 volunteers to care for over 40 nature reserves which are home to an array
of wonderful wildlife. From internationally-important wetlands to ancient woodlands, wildflower meadows and rare chalk streams, we look after some of the best spots for wildlife in South East England. Beyond the nature reserves in our care, we work alongside land managers, local government and community groups amongst others to ensure that we create more space for wildlife across Hertfordshire and Middlesex. By working together, we want to see at least 30% of land managed sympathetically for wildlife by 2030. By working alongside our communities, we help people learn about the wildlife on their doorstep and about how they can take practical action to protect it. From dawn chorus activities at sunrise to badger watching at dusk, we help people experience Hertfordshireโs incredible wildlife and wild spaces. We are a hub which connects individuals and organisations wanting to take-action for wildlife. As a conservation organisation we have a significant role to play in helping to meet the challenges of climate change. Restoring wild places can help soak up carbon emissions through natural solutions to climate change. We work collaboratively with individuals and organisations to create a sustainable, wilder future.
