Great news, trip advisor will no longer promote greyhound racing on its platform!

Big News! 🐾Effective immediately, will no longer promote greyhound cruelty as a suggested form of entertainment! 👏👏

Key Policy Rules

Domesticated Animals: Bans experiences that put domesticated animals at risk for entertainment, such as animal racing (dogs, horses, camels) and rodeos. Other working or riding animal exhibitions are allowed only if they follow responsible welfare guidelines.

Shows and Performances: Prohibits acts where animals perform demeaning tricks, wear costumes, or face physical/psychological distress through training.

Greyhound racing ends in New Zealand!! 🇳🇿

Thank you to every single campaigner and supporter who fought for this momentous outcome for the dogs. No more greyhound will be raced to death ❤️‍🩹

It’s done! The last ever race, at Whanganui’s Hatrick Raceway, has just been run. Now, no more beautiful greyhounds will suffer and die on New Zealand tracks for ‘entertainment’ and gambling.

It took over a decade of campaigning, countless compassionate people refusing to look away, multiple independent reviews, and a Government willing to finally act.

Our deepest thanks to every single person who spoke up for the hounds of Aotearoa, who signed a petition, wrote a submission, attended a protest, fostered or adopted a greyhound, donated, shared a post, challenged the excuses, or simply refused to accept that this barbaric ‘sport’ was welcome in a civilised society.

We’re celebrating because no more dogs will suffer at the hands of this industry and we remember every greyhound whose life was cut short before this day finally arrived.

Thank you so much to Wander dog and The DogMa for putting on a wonderful walk as we commemorated 100 years of greyhound racing in the U.K., and remembered the countless dogs injured, discarded and killed at the hands of the racing industry.

We also celebrated the successful bans in Scotland and Wales, and committed to continue fighting until there is not racing left anywhere.

Lovely to meet so many lovely hounds and their owners, some new faces and lots of familiar ones 💚
