Good evening
If you’re in Glasgow, this message is for you, go and support Kierans shop Zennor. That guy started in a shop in Dennistoun, now he’s got two places and roasts his own beans. Go see Matt at Amulet, worked his way up from barista to owning his own coffeeshop, Kieran from Kahawa Mzuri all the way from Kenya to set up shop in Glasgow, and Adam at Parallel Roasters spent years on the bar before building his own business. (A quick google search you’ll find them)
Buy coffee, An espresso. I’m not joking, it genuinely means everything.
These guys open their doors every morning and stand there, hoping someone walks in. That’s the job. Quiet hours. Fear. Hope. Then you see those posts online ‘So sad, another indie shop closed’ hundreds of comments saying how devastated everyone is. Where were they last week? Don’t cry about it later.
if you buy from us? You’re paying my rent. You’re keeping my staff in a job, real people, with bills, with lives they’re trying to hold together. You’re helping us stop renting someone else’s roaster and finally do it ourselves. You’re the reason we don’t lie awake wondering if I should give up.
But that’s not me begging. That’s just me telling you how it works.
We aren’t faceless companies. They’re names. People who risked everything, savings, mortgages, sanity because they believed good coffee and community actually mattered.
So if not us? Go support them. Support any indie in Glasgow. Buy something small. Walk through the door.
Because when you do, someone’s kid gets new shoes. Someone’s rent gets paid. Someone gets to show up again tomorrow.
And that’s the whole point.
From us the small coffee shop that’s still here because of people like you. Thank you.
Just a wee note: none of the places mentioned asked for this post or are in any financial issues. We love these guys. They’ve always been genuine to us.
