Hi everyone 💛

Just wanted to give a little update, now that we’re no longer at 201 Glasgow Road, we’re focusing on partnerships, pop-up events, and creating new opportunities for the community.

We’re excited to share that we’re collaborating with Global Nights on a new cultural club night launching next Wednesday 🎉

Also, we’d really appreciate your support with something that could make a huge difference for us 🙏

We’ve entered an easyfundraising giveaway where charities/community projects can win a £2,000 donation, and every new supporter who signs up counts as an entry!

It only takes 2 minutes to join before midnight on 10th May:
https://join.easyfundraising.org.uk/tempo-community-cic/mi678n/c2s/J1YccjD6/CE942/textcopy/

We only found out about this yesterday, so we’re doing a little weekend push 💪

There’s also a chance for us to receive an extra £100 if we climb the leaderboard, with all funds going towards future community events and activities 💛

Even sharing this post/message helps a lot, thank you for supporting Tempo Community CIC ✨

🎉 What are your plans for the 9th of May? 🎉

Come along and experience the incredible energy of the Edinburgh Tartan Parade! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🐉

This year, Liam will be proudly leading the march with the Association of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Scotland (ACES) in Group 2, carrying the Dragon Head through the Royal Mile as part of this amazing celebration of culture, heritage, diversity, and community.

At Tempo Community, we truly believe communities grow stronger when people from different backgrounds come together to celebrate, learn, and support one another. Events like the Tartan Parade represent exactly what we stand for:
✨ Cultural exchange
✨ Inclusivity
✨ Community connection
✨ Pride in heritage
✨ Bringing people together through shared experiences

From tartan to dragons, Scotland’s communities are shaped by the many cultures and stories that call this country home 💛

If you’re around Edinburgh on Saturday 9th May, come show your support, cheer everyone on, and celebrate the beautiful mix of traditions that make Scotland so special 🙌

📍 Group 2: Lawnmarket & High Street (Royal Mile)
🕐 Parade starts at 1PM

Hope to see some familiar faces there! 🐉🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Good evening

If you’re in Glasgow, this message is for you, go and support Kierans shop Zennor. That guy started in a shop in Dennistoun, now he’s got two places and roasts his own beans. Go see Matt at Amulet, worked his way up from barista to owning his own coffeeshop, Kieran from Kahawa Mzuri all the way from Kenya to set up shop in Glasgow, and Adam at Parallel Roasters spent years on the bar before building his own business. (A quick google search you’ll find them)

Buy coffee, An espresso. I’m not joking, it genuinely means everything.

These guys open their doors every morning and stand there, hoping someone walks in. That’s the job. Quiet hours. Fear. Hope. Then you see those posts online ‘So sad, another indie shop closed’ hundreds of comments saying how devastated everyone is. Where were they last week? Don’t cry about it later.

if you buy from us? You’re paying my rent. You’re keeping my staff in a job, real people, with bills, with lives they’re trying to hold together. You’re helping us stop renting someone else’s roaster and finally do it ourselves. You’re the reason we don’t lie awake wondering if I should give up.

But that’s not me begging. That’s just me telling you how it works.

We aren’t faceless companies. They’re names. People who risked everything, savings, mortgages, sanity because they believed good coffee and community actually mattered.

So if not us? Go support them. Support any indie in Glasgow. Buy something small. Walk through the door.

Because when you do, someone’s kid gets new shoes. Someone’s rent gets paid. Someone gets to show up again tomorrow.

And that’s the whole point.

From us the small coffee shop that’s still here because of people like you. Thank you.

Just a wee note: none of the places mentioned asked for this post or are in any financial issues. We love these guys. They’ve always been genuine to us.

💜 Thank You 💜

We just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who came down over the weekend to help us clear the space 🙏

It genuinely meant a lot. From lifting and sorting to just showing up and supporting, it reminded us exactly what Tempo Community has always been about… people, connection, and showing up for each other.

We made some great connections over the weekend and with a final push over the next few days, we’re hoping to have the building fully cleared.

🌱 Looking to Donate – Polytunnel (6m x 3m)
One thing we didn’t get the chance to bring to life was our community garden.

We have a 6m x 3m polytunnel (brand new) that we’d love to donate to a local organisation, charity, school, or community group that can put it to good use.

If that’s you (or you know someone), please get in touch 💚

🪑 Still Available – Free Items for Community Use
We also still have items we’d love to rehome rather than waste:

Desks

Chairs

Fans

Heaters

Toys

And more

If your organisation could benefit from anything, just drop us a message or email [email protected]
