What a busy and rewarding quarter it’s been at Halton Carers Centre! 🌟

Between July and September, our team has been working hard behind the scenes and out in the community to support carers across Halton. Over the last three months, we’ve been:

✨ Registering new carers

✨ Reviewing support for existing carers

✨ Facilitating regular Carers Groups

✨ Hosting trips, outings & fun activities

✨ Booking relaxing therapy sessions & professional counselling

✨ Allocating Carers Cards and providing 1-to-1 support
..alongside all the other fantastic services we provide daily! It’s definitely been a whirlwind quarter, and things aren’t slowing down anytime soon! 💙

None of this would be possible without our dedicated, passionate staff team and amazing volunteers. We also want to send a huge thank you to everyone who recommends our service and to all the partner organisations who regularly refer carers to us—your support makes a world of difference!

A few weeks ago, a group of our registered adult carers enjoyed a fantastic afternoon out at Scholars Restaurant Riverside College Widnes & Runcorn! 🍽️✨

The food and service were absolutely impeccable, and everyone had such a lovely time coming together, relaxing, and enjoying a delicious meal. If you haven't had the chance to visit Scholars yet, we highly recommend booking yourself in!

At Halton Carers Centre, we regularly run trips, workshops, and social activities for our registered carers. These sessions give carers a well-deserved break from their caring role, the chance to try something new, and the opportunity to meet others who understand. 💙

Thank You to Everyone Who Joined Our Joint Carers Forum! 💙

Last Thursday, we were delighted to host our joint Carers Forum in partnership with Halton Borough Council

The theme of the day was gathering your views on what it's really like to be a carer in Halton—what’s working well, what needs improvement, and how caring feels for you every day. There were some fantastic discussions around the tables, and every comment, suggestion, and idea shared will directly help shape the next Halton Carers Strategy 2027.

👏 A huge thank you to:

All the carers who took the time to attend and share your invaluable experiences.

All the professionals and organisations who came along to showcase their services and support our discussions.

🎟️ Raffle Winners: Our prize raffle for attendees has been drawn, and all winners have now been notified!

📣 Couldn't make it last week? You can still have your say!

If you are a carer in Halton and missed the event, we still want to hear from you. Please take a few minutes to complete our online questionnaire, which mirrors the exact questions asked at the forum.

All data will be collated alongside the event feedback and shared directly with HBC!

⏰ Deadline: This Friday 16th October at 4:00 PM

Our Adult Carers Support Workers, Lorina and Tracey, attended two Local Offer Live events last week with our Carers Information stand.

These events brought together a wide variety of SEND services from right across Halton, giving us a brilliant opportunity to showcase our support to local SEND families.

Connecting face-to-face is so important to us. Opportunities like this not only allow us to chat directly with parent carers about the support we can offer them, but they also give us a chance to network with other organisations in Halton.

Raising awareness of Young Carers across Adult Social Care!

Our Young Carers Worker, Ash, recently attended Halton Borough Council Adult Social Care Development Event, bringing along our Young Carers information stand.

It was a fantastic opportunity to network with Adult Social Care teams, share information about our Young Carers Service, and highlight the important role ASC professionals can play in identifying young carers and young adult carers.

When supporting adults in Halton, it’s important to consider whether there are children or young adults within the household who may be providing care or support to a parent, sibling, or another family member.

By identifying young carers early, we can help make sure they have access to the right support, information and opportunities.

Our referral pathway is quick and easy, making it simple for professionals to refer a young carer into our service. 🙌

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with Ash and learn more about how we can support young carers across Halton! 💙
