All of us at 4th Runcorn are deeply saddened by the passing of Margaret Ratcliffe and the thoughts of all of us are with Margaret’s family at this time.

Margaret was a great supporter of our Group as well as the local councillor for the area where our Scout HQ is situated. Margaret’s association with the Group started many years ago when she introduced her son Dave to the Group as a Cub, which in turn encouraged him to bring her grandchildren through 4th years later.

Margaret strived to support as much as she could, especially during her grandchildren’s time in the group whether that be through attending fundraising events, assisting us with finding grants or by being there to support us. It is a testament to her character that she was still battling the cause for the Heath Park Lake for her community as she became ill. Her sense of duty to her community was truly an inspiration, and it is something that we know holds a great feeling of pride to her family.

The Group’s flag will fly at half mast when we return in September with the HQ illuminated in colours of her families choice in memory of a great friend to all of us, but even more a very special mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all.

Rest in peace Margaret, and thank you

For squirrels last night for summer, we had a go a climbing! They all did amazing and tried their best to go as high as they could.

I had the privilege of investing our 2 new squirrels Samuel & Luca while on the climbing wall.

A huge thank you to 1st Moore leaders Andy & Jess for giving up their time tonight & letting us use their wall

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer & can’t wait to see you all back in September

Brilliant camp at Clogwyn this weekend! It started with a night hike on our first night to Stargaze at Llyn Idwal, then a beach day where the scouts got to do some beach games have a paddle and relax. The day finished with a stunning BBQ on the Clogwyn beach with the sun setting over the Menai Strait before 4th cheered on England against Norway. Today Scouts took a stroll down to Bangor Pier to do some crabbing and to get some chips for dinner before setting off home. A brilliant weekend, thank you to all the leaders who gave up their time this weekend and to the Scouts whose behaviour has been impeccable all weekend
