Statement from Pride in Halton CIC

We are heartbroken and deeply shocked by the devastating events at Berlin Pride.

Pride events exist to celebrate love, diversity, inclusion and the fundamental right for LGBTQ+ people to live openly, safely and without fear. No one should ever have to fear for their safety simply because they are celebrating who they are or standing in solidarity with others.

At times like these, it is more important than ever that we stand together as one community. We will not allow hatred, violence or intimidation to silence our voices or diminish our Pride. Our strength has always come from our unity, compassion and resilience.

We stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community in Berlin and around the world. Together, we mourn those affected, support those recovering, and reaffirm our commitment to creating communities where everyone can live with dignity, equality and respect.

From all of us at Pride in Halton CIC: Berlin, you are not alone. We stand with you. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️✊🏼🖤
