☀️ Week 3 of My Time MCST: The Words of Summer ☀️

Our My Time MCST group recently explored the theme “Word” through memories and conversations about summer 🌻

Each participant shared a word they associate with summer, from sunshine and holidays to family, laughter and treasured memories. These words were brought together in a word cloud before the group worked together to create their very own Summer Poem 💛

Creative activities like this give people living with dementia the opportunity to share memories, express themselves and connect with others in a supportive environment 🌤️✨

Are you from Halton and would like to have a say about what matters most in your community?

If you are over fifty-five, your council wants to hear from you. Halton Borough Council is working towards becoming a recognised Age-Friendly Community.
To start, it wants to hear from its residents about what matters most. The survey is anonymous and will be used to shape improvements to housing, transport, health services and socail opportunities.

If you would like to have your say the survey should only take ten minutes.

We’ve been made aware of fraudulent calls from people impersonating Age UK ⚠️

They have been contacting people about damp, mould and insulation, asking personal questions such as whether they own their home and requesting personal details.

If you receive an unexpected call claiming to be from Age UK:
- Stop and don’t feel pressured to make a decision
- Check the caller’s identity
- Never share personal or financial information
- Verify their details by contacting Age UK directly
- Report any suspected fraud to Report Fraud on 0300 123 2040 or by texting 7726

If you think a business is acting unlawfully or unfairly, Citizens Advice can help you report it to Trading Standards on 0808 223 1133.

If you receive one of these calls, please also let us know:

📞 0300 003 1992

Most importantly, trust your instincts. If something doesn’t feel right, stop the conversation and verify who you’re speaking to.

Yesterday Emma, our Services Manager, recently attended Halton Borough Council's Adult Social Care Service Development Event, where she delivered two engaging workshops for staff.

The sessions focused on the wide range of support and services we provide for older people across Halton, helping professionals learn more about how we can work together to ensure people are connected with the right support when they need it.

Building strong partnerships and raising awareness of local services helps us reach more older people in our community and make a real difference 💙

🌟 Small charity. Big impact. Tiny team members (once upon a time) 👶💜

It's Small Charity Week, and we're introducing just a few of the fabulous people behind Age UK Mid Mersey! From supporting older people and answering advice queries to running activities and keeping everything ticking behind the scenes, our small team works hard to make a big difference every day.

As a local, independent charity, we're proud to support older people across Halton, St Helens, Knowsley and Warrington. Every service we provide, every activity we run, and every person we help is made possible through the support of our community.

If you'd like to help us continue making a big impact, please consider making a donation. No matter the size, every contribution helps us be there for older people when they need us most 💜
