Yellow Hot Weather Alert ☀️
A Yellow Heat Health Alert has been issued by the Met Office for the North West of England until Thursday, 5pm. Please take extra care in the heat and check in on those who may be more vulnerable.
See below for a few tips to stay safe & cool in hot weather:
- Drink water regularly, even if you don’t feel thirsty
- Keep your home cool by closing curtains or blinds in sunny rooms and opening windows when it’s cooler
- Avoid going out or doing activities during the hottest part of the day (11am–3pm)
- Wear loose, lightweight clothing and use a fan, damp cloth, or cool shower to help stay comfortable
- Be mindful that some health conditions and medications can make hot weather harder to manage
- Check in with family, friends, neighbours, or carers, especially if you live alone or support someone more vulnerable
