Moving to Thursday this week after studio repairs, the Judge's Jukebox is back on free play from midday until 2pm, with a great selection of hit songs from the 60s and 70s, today including the Small Faces, Moody Blues, Mama Cass, Adam Faith, Lovin' Spoonful, Engelbert Humperdinck, Kinks, Bee Gees, Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, Rod Stewart, Roxy Music, Abba, Andy Williams, Curved Air, Roy Orbison, Barry Blue and many more, including, climbing to Number 21 on the UK singles chart this week in 1975, Procol Harum with the brilliant but criminally underplayed 'Pandora's Box'.

Pandora's Box is a song written by pianist Gary Brooker and lyricist Keith Reid. It was recorded by their band, Procol Harum in 1975 as part of the album Procol's Ninth. This single was the last hit Procol Harum were to have before disbanding in 1977.

Thursday evening live programmes on Rugby Hospital Radio kick off at 7 pm.

Phil Smith begins proceedings with the three segment Thursday Triangle. Gary Skinner follows at 8 pm with the Classic Rock Show, and Robin Dibble takes you on a musical journey between 9 and 10 pm with Dibble’s Dabbles.

All three gents produce their own shows just for you, and together they have something to suit all tastes, including strawberry and vanilla!

What can we say in tribute to Dolly Parton that hasn't already been said? Well, we can tell you that her songs have consistently been requested by patients for decades with no sign of that slowing down. In 2025, she was tied with Cliff Richard as our sixth most requested artist overall, behind The Beatles, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, ABBA and Elvis Presley. Which just goes to show, you need to be a real music legend to get more requests than Dolly!

Here she is with Kenny Rogers in a later live performance of their 1983 duet Islands In The Stream, which is always among our most requested songs (it was placed at No.7 on our 2025 chart). With the combination of two much-loved singers and the Bee Gees' songwriting, it makes for a perfect hospital radio record.

As her nephew Bryan Seaver said in his public statement announcing her passing, "Her spirit will live forever". Thank you Dolly – we will keep on playing the music.
