Psds- providing support for individuals with Down syndrome & their families We are a Surrey based charity providing syndrome specific support and specialist services for individuals who have Down Syndrome and support for their families

psds is a registered charity whose principal goal is to provide support for children with Down syndrome and their families. We meet regularly as families to share our experiences and provide a network of support, friendship, advice and expertise. This benefits not only our children with Down syndrome, but also their siblings, ourselves as parents and all family members. We also provide a range of

professional services, such as early development groups and speech and language therapy, and have an extensive library of resources for our members and their families to make use of.

We are delighted to recognise Hannah’s new role as our first PSDS employee. Although Hannah has been supporting PSDS for almost two years, in June she became employed as our first Practice Manager. This is an important milestone for PSDS in our 20th year and demonstrates our commitment to providing a diverse range of services and building out our capabilities at 42a.

A big thank you to Redhill & Reigate Round Table - volunteer group of Chris, George, Jack, Ben B and Ben S who spent the day last week in the garden at 42a, along with Pete, Lloyd, Hazel and Helen from PSDS giving it a very much deserved tidy up! It's good to have the garden looking shipshape for our upcoming summer events.

If anyone would like to volunteer a couple of hours here and there to help keep the weeds at bay, please get in touch.

Saturday’s soggy weather conditions didn’t manage to dampen the spirits of PSDS supporter, Mark, who participated in the Supertri Sprint event at Blenheim Palace. Mark completed his 750m swim, 20km cycle and 6km run in 1 hour and 28 minutes and has so far raised over £1,800 for PSDS. A fabulous achievement all round!

Mark’s inspiration for taking on his recent challenge is his nephew Ronnie, who attends Digbies, our weekly pre-school early development groups.

Witnessing firsthand how much Ronnie has benefited from the support he and his parents receive through PSDS, Mark was determined to help us in return. It sounds like the Blenheim Tri is just the start of Mark’s fundraising favour. He is already researching events for 2027, which is set to be a very special anniversary as PSDS celebrates 21 years of providing exceptional support for so many wonderful children and young people and their families.

The services we offer just wouldn’t be possible without the huge efforts made to raise funds on our behalf. We are extremely grateful to everyone who has set themselves a challenge and to all their generous donors.

Well done Uncle Mark, we’re sure Ronnie is just as proud of you as you are of him.

This week is volunteers week where we celebrate all of the wonderful volunteers that help keep our charity running. Thank you for everything you do for PSDS!

Whilst we are blessed with many wonderful volunteers we could always do with more. Volunteering doesn't need to involve huge time commitments or be a regular thing. Any time you can give would be much appreciated.

If you would like to get involved or find out more please get in touch!

Wishing Craig Morgan (PSDS member) all the best for his Ultra Challenge London 2 Brighton 100km walk that he will be undertaking this weekend

Craig is taking part in this challenge as a thank you to PSDS for the support his family has received, especially the input from the Digbies sessions for Jonas.

Ordinerily this distance would be a challenge on its own but on the hottest weekend of the year this will be even tougher! We are all with you Craig and wish you all the best. Thank you for doing this for PSDS.
