⭐ ⭐ THROWBACK THURSDAY ⭐ ⭐
This Throwback Thursday we are remembering when Kingston Hospital Charity funded the Faxitron, a specialist imaging system used during breast cancer surgery.
The Faxitron allows for immediate specimen imaging during surgery, giving surgeons real-time confirmation that a tumour has been fully removed, right there in the operating theatre. That means fewer patients needing to return for additional procedures, and that means less anxiety, fewer hospital visits and better outcomes.
The numbers speak for themselves: on average, the Faxitron cuts operating times by up to 60 minutes per session, a reduction of around 25%. That's time given back to patients and time freed for clinical teams. For anyone going through breast cancer treatment, the reassurance of knowing their surgeon has every tool they need to get it right, first time is essential. 💙
