Free classes run on Surrey/Sussex border helping children overcome their fear of dogs

22/10/2026

All dogs running around off lead playing with their toys. The children joined in too.

21/10/2026

This week we had 3 dogs at a time running past the children.

20/10/2026

The children walked passed the dogs to gain confidence in passing dogs without handlers being in control

When the children arrive at our sessions they say that the most scary thing is when they and the dogs have eye contact with each other and keep staring at them. So, in this exercise we set up this situation and move the children around the dog so it turns its head and follows the child’s face and the food that they hold up in their hand.

15/10/2026

This exercise is very difficult for these children. They all did very well.

Then the dogs follow the children ( see post below)

Unknown dogs close to the children is worrying for them so we start with children walking behind dogs then practice with dogs walking close behind the children

We then moved the children closer to each other so the dogs were closer when they passed the children. ( see post below).
