A BBQ is always a good reason to bring everyone together. ☀️

One of our homes recently made the most of the summer weather, with friends, family and colleagues coming together for an afternoon of food, music and catching up.

Days like this are a chance to spend time with family, catch up with friends, meet new people and enjoy that sense of belonging that comes from feeling comfortable around the people you're with.

For the people we support, having a home of their own is about so much more than where they live. It's about making it theirs, building independence and being supported to lead an aspiring life.

And a BBQ in the sunshine is a pretty good way to bring everyone together! 💙

We're celebrating some exciting news! 🎉

Active Prospects has been ranked #2 in the UK's Best Workplaces for Women™ 2026 by Great Place To Work®!

This award recognises organisations where women are supported to thrive, and we're incredibly proud that the culture we've built together has been recognised in this way.

From flexible working and opportunities to progress, to listening to colleagues and supporting a healthy work-life balance and wellbeing, we're committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued.

A huge thank you to every member of our team who helps make Active Prospects such a special place to work. 💙

We're also delighted to see this year's rankings featured in

“The people we support and colleagues I work with are the best part of my role.” 💙

Meet Kayleigh!

Kayleigh is an Assistant Manager at one of our supported living services, where building strong, trusting relationships with the people around her is a big part of what she does.

It's something that hasn't gone unnoticed. Kayleigh was recently nominated by colleagues and people we support and recognised as one of our Most Valuing Assistant Managers.

But for Kayleigh, one of the best parts of her role is seeing what people can achieve: “Seeing the progress that people we support have made because of the work that the staff have done makes me proud.”

She's also quick to recognise the colleagues around her and values being somewhere that supports people to grow: “Active Prospects look after their employees and are always helping them to develop.”

We're really pleased to celebrate Kayleigh and share a little more about one of the people behind Active Prospects.

Thank you for everything you do, Kayleigh! 💙

“What makes Welcomes Road special is our ability to work together as a team. We've built a culture where everyone feels valued, listened to and encouraged to contribute.” 💙

Meet the team at Welcomes Road!

Through challenging times, the team have supported each other, strengthened the way they work together and made positive changes across their service.

For Linzi, Home Manager, it's the care and support that makes the team so special:
“The team are so caring, not only towards the people we support but towards each other as well. They help each other get better in areas that need improvement, which is really lovely to see.”

That stronger teamwork has helped create a more consistent and positive home for the people they support.

Their hard work was recently recognised when Welcomes Road was named our Most Transformative Staff Team – celebrating just how far they've come together.

And when we asked what working at Active Prospects means to them, they told us:
“Active Prospects gives us an environment where we can feel valued for what we contribute, while also knowing that the work we do has a genuine impact on people's lives.”

We're really pleased to celebrate everything the team have achieved together.

Well done, Welcomes Road! 💙

“My biggest achievement was going out on my own for the first time in years.” 💙

Meet Katie!

Katie has been working hard towards becoming more independent and achieving some big personal goals.

One of those goals was travelling independently – and Katie did it! 🙌

It's given her more freedom to make her own plans and do the things she wants to do.

“It has helped me make plans without having to rely on staff.”

Katie's hard work was recently celebrated when she was recognised as our **Most Aspiring Person**. But she's already thinking about what she'd like to achieve next!

“I want to go swimming, go to the Isle of Wight for the day, get another tattoo and continue feeling confident.”

We're so pleased to celebrate everything Katie has achieved so far – and we can't wait to see what comes next. 💙

We have some exciting news! 💚

Active Prospects has been awarded £315,312 from The National Lottery Community Fund to expand our Active Wellbeing Coaching programme over the next two years.

The funding will help 160 neurodivergent people access personalised wellbeing coaching, with community activities reaching up to 200 more people each year.

It means more people can get the right support earlier – helping them stay well, build confidence, feel connected and reduce the risk of reaching crisis.

A huge thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund and National Lottery players for investing in this work.

💚 "When I leave I feel calm because I've been outdoors." – Matt

We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate National Allotment Week.

Our allotment has become so much more than a place to grow fruit and vegetables. Every week, people come together to garden, share tea and cake, catch up on each other's week and enjoy spending time outdoors.

Some people love getting involved with planting and maintaining the space, while others simply enjoy sitting on the bench, chatting with neighbours or taking a quiet moment in the fresh air.

It's become a place where friendships have grown, confidence has grown and, of course, plenty of vegetables have grown too! 🌱

A huge thank you to everyone who helps look after our allotment and makes it such a welcoming place for everyone.

💬 Do you have a favourite outdoor place where you feel calm and connected? We'd love to hear about it.

The best moments in our homes often happen around a shared table. 💙

One of our homes recently enjoyed a summer BBQ, bringing everyone together for an afternoon of great food, laughter and sunshine.

The people we support chose what they wanted to cook, helped prepare the food and enjoyed sharing the day with friends and colleagues, making it a celebration shaped by the people who call it home.

These are the moments that make a real difference. Sharing a meal, spending time together and creating memories all help build confidence, encourage independence and create a sense of belonging.

Our homes aren't just where the people we support live—they're places where people feel comfortable, connected and surrounded by those who know them well.

💬 What simple moments make somewhere feel like home to you?

⭐ What a night!

Our 2026 Star Awards brought together colleagues, the people we support, families and friends to celebrate the people and teams who make Active Prospects such a special place.

Thank you to everyone who thoughtfully recognised others through their nominations, and a huge congratulations to our brilliant winners."— Maria Mills, CEO

From the inspiring stories behind every nomination to the joy of celebrating together, the evening was a reminder of the incredible difference that people make every day.

What makes a house feel like home? 💙

Every month, our homes are visited by trained Quality Checkers with lived experience. They help us understand what it's really like to live in our services, making sure people feel safe, welcomed, listened to and supported to live as independently as possible.

Their insight strengthens how we review and improve our homes, keeping the voices of the people we support at the heart of every decision we make.

Being a Quality Checker is also an opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence and make a real difference. It's co-production in action, with people working alongside colleagues to help shape better services for everyone.

At Active Prospects, co-production is part of how we work every day. It helps us create homes and opportunities that don't just meet standards, but are places and moments where people can thrive and lead glorious ordinary lives.
