Sometimes, the people we call neighbours become something even more meaningful — friends 💙

Today, we want to spotlight a friendship that has flourished within one of our supported living homes.

At Active Prospects, we believe independence is about more than where someone lives. It is also about feeling connected, included and part of a community around you.

Sometimes, the most meaningful moments are the simplest ones. Spending time together in shared spaces. Cups of tea. Shared meals. Conversation. Everyday moments that help people feel safe to be themselves and build genuine friendships naturally over time.

We are incredibly proud of the dedication shown by our teams in creating homes where people feel a true sense of belonging and are supported to lead full and aspiring lives 💙

Our latest article explores why friendship and belonging matter in supported living, and how small changes can create meaningful outcomes for people with complex needs.

⛳ What does wellbeing support look like when it’s shaped around people, not programmes?

Recently, members of our wellbeing team spent an afternoon at the driving range together.
Using a simple emotional regulation technique, our wellbeing team encouraged people to imagine each golf ball as a worry or stressful thought — and then physically let it go with each shot 💭

At Active Prospects, our wellbeing coaching is co-produced and built around personalised support plans for everyone. Rather than expecting members to fit into traditional wellbeing models, our team works alongside individuals to shape support around their strengths, preferences and lived experiences 🤝

Positive wellbeing doesn’t always start in a traditional setting. Often, it starts with connection, shared experiences and a sense of belonging ✨

Being outdoors, learning new skills and building confidence together — what could be better? 🌿

Last month, a group of people we support and colleagues took part in a two-day programme with Surrey Outdoor Learning and Development, focused on teamwork, communication, and supporting one another to try something new.

“I felt you were willing to see me succeed so I kept trying till I did it. Even if it was my way not the way someone else did it.” Group participant

At Active Prospects, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to connect with others, and achieve things in their own way, at their own pace. Activities like this help to build trust, develop new skills, and work together to overcome challenges — all while having fun outdoors.

Thank you to Surrey Outdoor Learning & Development for creating such an inclusive and empowering experience 🌿

Invite your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours to join in too — every minute moved and every pound raised helps create more opportunities for autistic people to live gloriously ordinary lives.

What does taking action for mental health look like to us? 💙

At Active Prospects, it means creating spaces where people feel heard, supported and less alone.

This , our teams and people we support have been talking openly about emotional coping strategies, preventing burnout and the importance of connection and belonging.

A simple bunch of daffodils… but it meant so much more 💛🌼

Recently, a local farm shop café surprised the people we support and their support workers with bright, beautiful daffodils—just to brighten their day.

But this act wasn’t just about flowers.

It was a moment of kindness.
A moment of recognition.
A reminder that people are seen, valued and appreciated.

At Active Prospects, we believe it’s these small, thoughtful gestures that help people feel connected, included and part of their community.

We’re proud to be supporting A Million Acts of Hope this Action Week, celebrating the everyday moments of care and connection that make a real difference.

Join us in signing the UK’s biggest thank you card and help celebrate the people who make hope happen every day.

👑 A special day for two long-standing members of the Active Prospects team!

Abbey and Gertrude, both Managers at Active Prospects, have grown and developed their careers with us over many years and were recently invited to attend a Royal Garden Party in recognition of their dedication to social care. 💙

It was wonderful to see their commitment recognised in such a memorable way.

Held in the beautiful palace gardens, the day brought together people from across the country who have made a lasting difference in their communities.

Abbey described the experience as unforgettable, saying:

✨ “I had such a lovely time – it really was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and a fantastic opportunity through Active Prospects. I’m so grateful to have been part of it.”

Our thanks also go to the National Care Forum, which offered places to its members and helped make this opportunity possible. Their ongoing commitment to recognising and celebrating the social care workforce means so much, and made it possible for Abbey and Gertrude to enjoy such a special experience.

We’re incredibly proud of both Abbey and Gertrude and everything they continue to give to people we support and their colleagues💙

What makes our teams stronger? Different perspectives, experiences and ways of thinking 💙

At Active Prospects, neurodiversity isn’t just something we talk about — it’s part of who we.

During a recent workshop led by our Lead Clinician, colleagues shared how their lived experience of neurodiversity helps them support others with greater understanding, empathy and creativity every day.

From problem solving and advocacy to creative thinking and building meaningful connections, our colleagues highlighted the many strengths neurodiversity brings to the workplace and the people we support.

“Neurodiversity allows me to understand complex behaviours in care settings, supporting better outcomes and fostering creativity in problem-solving within my team.” – Home Manager

These conversations reminded us that there is no single “right” way to think, communicate or work. By recognising and supporting different ways of experiencing the world, we create environments where people can truly thrive.
