At Strength for Positive Action CIC, we believe that every act of kindness has the power to change lives, restore dignity, and bring hope to individuals and families in our community. 💕🤝

Our Clothing Bank is just one of the many programmes through which we support people facing challenging circumstances, helping them access essential items and reminding them that they are not alone.

We are incredibly grateful to supportive organisations in Teeside who have made us referral partners for their generous donation of new clothes, toiletries, and essential household items. These thoughtful contributions have made a meaningful difference to the people accessing support through our Clothing Bank. 🧥👕🧴🏡

Some of our beneficiaries were happy to join us in photographs to express their gratitude and share a heartfelt THANK YOU to our amazing referral partners. Their smiles reflect the joy of receiving support and the reassurance that there are people and organisations who genuinely care. ❤️📸

Do you know about our business activities and how we generate income?

At Strength For Positive Action CIC, we have commercial activities and we generate income through room hire, workshops, training, speaking engagements, gift shop sales and photocopying / document printing services.

Every pound helps cover the running costs of the Flourish Centre and support our community services. 💚

As a Community Interest Company, we have an asset lock and reinvest all income and surplus in line with our community purposes.

What Do We Do at Strength For Positive Action CIC ?

We support individuals and families through practical help, community activities and opportunities to learn and grow.

Our activities include food support, clothing and household essentials, family support, SEND peer support, children and young people’s clubs and skills development for women.

Together, we’re making support and opportunities more accessible across our community!

We have a range of free brand new items available for children, women and men, including:

Introducing Strength for Positive Action CIC (SPA CIC)

Strengthening families. Building stronger communities.

We are a women-led, community-focused social enterprise based in Southbank, Middlesbrough. We support women, children, families and individuals through practical services, activities and opportunities.

Our work includes:

This Black History Month, Strength For Positive Action CIC celebrates the rich history, culture, resilience, achievements and contributions of Black people and the Black race both past and present.

We honour the pioneers who paved the way, celebrate the leaders and changemakers of today, and inspire the next generation to dream boldly, embrace their identity and recognise the power of their heritage.

As a community, we believe in celebrating diversity, promoting inclusion, challenging inequalities and creating opportunities for everyone to thrive. Our history matters, our voices matter, and our contributions deserve to be recognised every day.

Breaking Barriers – SEND Mums Peer Support Group 🧩🧩

Today we held our first Breaking Barriers peer support group for SEND mums, and what a special session it was.
There were tears, laughter, honest conversations and shared experiences as mums talked about navigating the SEND journey, accessing support and the challenges that can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Most importantly, there was understanding. ❤️

Sometimes, having someone who truly understands can make a real difference. You don’t have to navigate the journey alone.

A huge thank you to our facilitator Luo, who was amazing and used her own lived experience of the SEND journey alongside her professional experience to support and encourage the group. A huge thanks to our participants Vicky & Tosin who also shared their experiences without holding back.

🌱 Breaking Barriers will meet monthly, creating an opportunity for SEND mums, especially mums from the BAME Black African and minority communities to build friendships, share experiences, dispel cultural stereotypes and learn about support available and encourage one another.

📅 Our next date will be communicated soon.

🧩BREAKING BARRIERS: SEN MOMS SUPPORT GROUP🧩

Are you a mum navigating the SEN journey with your child?
You don’t have to do it alone.

Breaking Barriers SEN Moms Support Group is a welcoming space for mums to come together, share experiences, ask questions, access helpful information and support one another.

Our group is facilitated by Luo, a SEN mum and registered nurse who is also navigating the journey with her own little one.

We’ve been busy behind the scenes getting our centre ready! 💚

We’re incredibly grateful for the support and donations we’ve received from various charities and organisations as we continue setting up.

Most recently, we received boxes of new home essentials and brand-new baby clothes which will be distributed free of charge to families who need them most.

We’ve also been welcoming visitors to the centre, and we want to say a big thank you to everyone who has stopped by, supported us and helped us get things ready.

There’s still plenty to do, but we’re making progress!

Our formal open day will be coming soon — we look forward to welcoming you all. 💚
