Graft, FREE Employability support for neurodivergent 19-25 year olds in Reading

Pathways to Potential is a new employability programme designed with neurodivergent young people, for neurodivergent young people. We believe that everyone has unique strengths, talents, and potential, and that finding the right career is about much more than simply getting a job.

Our friends at Graft Thames Valley are inviting neurodivergent young adults who live in the Reading Borough Council area to apply to take part in a new employability support programme, which will start in September.
Pathways to Potential has been designed with neurodivergent young people, for neurodivergent young people to help identify their unique strengths, talents and potential, to help them find the right career.
Through personalised tailored support, practical workshops, supported work experience and one-to-one coaching, the programme aims to help young people build confidence, develop workplace skills and discover career paths that suit their interests, ambitions, and individual needs.
The focus is on creating lasting opportunities and helping young people work towards a future where they can thrive.

Further education provider Activate Learning, which runs Reading College, is holding a summer transition event on Tuesday, August 10, from 10.30am to 12.30pm, for students who will be starting courses at the college in September.
Many people feel nervous about starting somewhere new, meeting new people, finding their way around campus, or adjusting to new routines, so the aim is to help students feel more prepared, particularly young people with SEND and those who have experienced challenges attending school.
As well as the chance to see the campus when it is quiet, there will be opportunities to meet other new students, find out about SEND support and other help and get help with enrolment and bursary applications where appropriate.
Similar events are taking place at Activate's other colleges in Oxfordshire and Surrey.

Pennyhooks Farm in Oxfordshire provides farm-based training for autistic adults and young people in animal care, woodwork, horticulture, rural crafts, conservation and cooking.
The farm is holding its annual open day this Saturday, June 27, from 11.30am to 4pm, offering the chance to see the farm and the work of the Pennyhooks Farm Trust, which runs the working organic farm in conjunction with its owners, the Otter family. Admission is free of charge.
Pennyhooks Farm is off the A420 at Shrivenham, north-east of Swindon, and close to junction 15 on the M4.
