To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the charity www.readingforce.org.uk which seeks to keep military families connected through shared-reading, we are pleased to announce that:

- All military families are entitled to a free copy of our patron Meg Rosoff’s new book ‘Almost Nothing Happened’. Award-winning author Meg launched Reading Force in Aldershot 15 years ago and is returning to help us celebrate. We will be there from Friday 26th – through to Sunday 27th.

- Secondly, the author is offering a special event at the West End Centre on the evening of 29th June 2026 – see here for tickets. https://www.westendcentre.co.uk/event/reading-force-meg-rosoff Military families get in for just £5 per person.

A seaside break for military families in Falmouth 💙

The Lest We Forget Association has recently purchased two adjacent guest houses in Falmouth, Cornwall, with the aim of providing respite breaks for serving and veteran military personnel and their families.

The RV offers a peaceful coastal base for rest, recovery and resilience, just a short walk from Falmouth town centre and only three minutes from beautiful Gyllyngvase Beach.

Accommodation includes:
🏡 3 family spaces with two bedrooms, a sitting area and private bathroom
♿ 1 accessible one-bedroom unit with a wet room and sitting area
🛏️ 17 en-suite rooms
👶 Some rooms have space for a travel cot, but guests will need to bring their own
Stays are bed and breakfast, with a simple self-service breakfast available, including options such as cereal and toast. Tea and coffee facilities are available in the rooms, and there is a communal area with a kettle, toaster, fridge and microwave. Guests are also welcome to bring in takeaways or ready meals.

There is no charge for your stay. However, donations are welcomed according to your means, helping Lest We Forget Association continue to offer this wonderful facility to other serving personnel, veterans and military families.

This week we recognise the incredible work of small charities making a big impact. 🌟

With limited resources but boundless dedication, they change lives every day.

Let’s show our support and celebrate their role in our communities.

You can request your baby bib at any time. If your baby hasn’t arrived yet, you’ll be able to choose on the form whether you’d like us to send it after they are born.

💙 Today is Autistic Pride Day - a time to celebrate the individuality, creativity, and strength of autistic people around the world.

This day reminds us that neurodiversity is something to be valued, not changed.

Every child and young person deserves to be seen for who they are, supported to thrive, and celebrated for their unique way of experiencing the world.

For Naval families and beyond, it’s about embracing differences and building understanding together. 🌈
