62nd Portsmouth Scout Group - Cosham Scouting offers fun, challenge and everyday adventure to 400,000 girls and boys across the UK.

Provide fun, adventure & skills for life and give young people the chance to enjoy new adventures, experience outdoors & take part in a range of activities, gain confidence and have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Offering over 200 different activities from abseiling and archery to drama, street sports and water zorbing, Scouting helps 6-25 year olds grow in confidence, achieve thei

r full potential and become active members of their communities. This is only possible through the efforts of 100,000 volunteers who also enjoy the fun and friendship of Scouting. Trusted by nearly a million parents each week, the movement welcomes members from all backgrounds, faiths and cultures. Special emphasis is placed on bringing the Scouting programme to young people who currently do not benefit, particularly those in inner cities, those in rural areas and other disadvantaged groups. The Scout Association is a registered charity in the UK and part of a worldwide movement of 31 million Scouts, working for peace and global friendship.

62nd Portsmouth Squirrel Scouts had a great time at the Big Forest Clean today. Big thank you to Casemates Studios & Cafe Boundary Oak School and Portsmouth Forest School.
Our youngest section have been working towards the Community Impact Badge while thinking about litter. It was great to see all the bags of litter collected by everyone who joined in today. Squirrels also enjoyed fire starting, toasting marshmallows and swinging in hammocks. They were all rewarded with an ice pop and certificate at the end.

To celebrate World Environment Day, we’re bringing our community together to help care for Foxes Forest – and we’d love you to join us!

We’re delighted to be co-hosting this event with Boundary Oak School, alongside support from our fantastic local Scout groups.

As a special treat, the wonderful team from Portsmouth Forest School will be waiting in the fire circle with toasted marshmallows, giving children the chance to learn about protecting our local environment while enjoying a well-earned break.

💚 A great way to give back to our community and spend time outdoors together

According to research, children and young people who take part in Scouts have a lower risk of mental illness in later life.

Scouts can play an important role in supporting wellbeing, through activities and badges, friendship, getting outdoors, and talking about and developing understanding around mental health.
