Our Older Young Carers group explored what ‘home’ means to them during a creative session focused on texture and design 🫟

Supported by Tom from Thirteen Eight the young people used their ideas and experiences to create some fantastic pieces of artwork 😍

It was great to welcome our younger Gosport Young Carers group back this week 🙌🏼

The session gave young people space to check in about the summer holidays, share how they were feeling about returning to school and update their Young Carers Stars 🌟

Funded by Hampshire Young Carers Alliance, the evening also included Hama beads, puzzles and designing personalised pencil cases 🧩

Our Gosport team were out in Rowner for a community engagement event, blending over 50 fruit smoothies and chatting with local families about the support and opportunities available for young people across the area 🍎🍓🚲

It was a great chance to connect with the community and share how we’re helping young people build brighter futures 💙

Our Fareham team were out and about last week, connecting with young people in their communities, building trusted relationships and offering support where it’s needed most in the local area 💙

Seven young people took part in an intensive swimming programme this week 🏊‍♀️ Across four days they built confidence, developed new skills and made fantastic progress in the water. A huge thank you to Hollie and Kim, our lifeguard, for their support throughout the week 💙

Joe and Kirsty attended the S.A.L.T Festival in Portsmouth on Saturday, a free community wellbeing event focused on raising awareness, reducing stigma and encouraging conversations around mental health and su***de prevention. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with local organisations and celebrate the support available across our communities 💙

The challenges facing young people today are increasingly complex. Many are navigating risks linked to exploitation, offending, antisocial behaviour, poor emotional wellbeing, social isolation, family conflict and disengagement from education.

Thanks to funding from the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire & Isle of Wight, Motiv8 has been able to provide targeted Youth Mentoring support when young people need it most. During Quarter 1 alone, we received 43 new referrals, supported 49 young people and delivered 258 one-to-one mentoring sessions across Fareham, Gosport, Havant and Portsmouth.

Behind every one of those numbers is a young person with potential.

A young person who needed support. A young person who was given the opportunity to make positive choices. A young person taking steps towards a safer and brighter future.

Because early intervention doesn't just help young people overcome challenges today. It helps create stronger, safer communities for tomorrow 💙

The impact of early intervention extends far beyond the individual young person.
Across Gosport, Fareham, Havant and Portsmouth, young people made positive progress in reducing exploitation risks, improving community safety, reducing offending behaviour and increasing engagement in education. Local outcome improvements ranged from 50% to 100% across the programme.

Young people told us they felt more confident, more able to regulate their emotions and better equipped to make positive decisions about their future.

Parents, carers and professionals also reported improvements in wellbeing, engagement and relationships.

These outcomes represent more than statistics.

They represent young people feeling safer. They represent stronger connections to education and support. They represent opportunities that may not have existed without early intervention.

By supporting young people at the right time, we're helping to build safer communities and brighter futures 💙

After an incredible journey around the Isle of Wight Coastal Path, we're thrilled to celebrate Cadan and his four-year-old chocolate Labrador, Milo, who have successfully completed the full 120km challenge in support of Motiv8!

We're absolutely blown away by the support they've received so far. To everyone who has donated, shared their fundraising page, sent messages of encouragement or followed their journey, thank you. Your support means so much to the young people of Gosport, Fareham, Havant and Portsmouth.

What another incredible week of summer adventures at during HAF and Summer Passport ☀️

From getting creative with graffiti pens, building amazing LEGO creations, and learning new skills in cooking and healthy snack making, to enjoying tasty toasties with friends, there has been something for everyone.

Our young people have been keeping active too with swimming, sports, martial arts, bowling, ice skating, and even an exciting two days of sailing with the Boleh Project ⛵

A huge shout out to Karen from Hampshire County Council for visiting us and Team Life At Aztec for helping make Summer Passport such a fantastic experience for everyone whilst volunteering 💙

Seeing so many young people smiling and having fun, new friendships and unforgettable memories being made has warmed our hearts. This Friday, we're thinking of all the feedback young people have recently received, with regards to their GCSE and A-Level results

Whether a young person's results opened the door they were hoping for, or have left them wondering what comes next, we believe that there isn't just one path to a brighter future 💙

At Motiv8, we see young people exploring different interests, developing new skills, using their voice, discovering what motivates them, and taking positive steps towards a path that is right for them.

Exam results are just one part of a story. They don't define a young person's potential, talents, or the difference they can make.

There are many paths in life, and every journey looks different. Whatever a young person's next step is, we're here to support them in finding the route that's right for them, at the right time for them.

Positive change starts with a trusted relationship 💙

Last quarter, Motiv8 delivered 258 Youth Mentoring sessions to young people across Fareham, Gosport, Havant and Portsmouth. Through Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire & Isle of Wight funded Youth Mentoring, we supported young people facing challenges linked to exploitation, antisocial behaviour, offending, poor emotional wellbeing, social isolation and disengagement from education.

Our support is tailored to each young person's needs, whether that's building confidence, improving emotional wellbeing, developing positive coping strategies, increasing school engagement or reducing vulnerability to harm.

One young person referred to our service was experiencing social isolation, low confidence, past trauma and concerns around potential exploitation. Through consistent Youth Mentoring and a trusted relationship with their Youth Support Worker, they developed greater confidence, improved emotional resilience and became better connected to positive support networks.

Because when young people feel heard, supported and understood, positive change becomes possible 💙
