VOS is proud to be sharing Fighting With Pride’s Battle for Lost Veterans 2026 campaign.🏳️‍🌈

We encourage our local community, service users, colleagues and supporters to get behind this important campaign which recognises the devastating impact of the ‘Gay Ban’ on LGBTQ+ veterans who served between 1967 and 2000.

Those affected may be eligible to apply for the Financial Recognition Scheme and non-financial restorative measures.

Please help us spread the word and support those who may be entitled to access this important recognition.

⏰ The deadline to apply is 23:59 on 12 December 2026.

🔗 Veterans Organisations Connect Through One Network

Nine organisations supporting veterans and their families recently attended a Veterans Community Network (VCN) Thrive Together South East event, showcasing the One Network platform.

The session demonstrated how the platform can help organisations share events, news, resources and information to strengthen partnerships and improve referral pathways for the Armed Forces community.

Female Veterans Social Group - CANCELLED TOMORROW📢

Unfortunately, we have to cancel our Female Veterans Social Group which was due to take place at the Utilita Hub tomorrow (Friday 23rd October, 1200-1400hrs.)

This is due to the Yellow Weather Warning for Storm Austen being extended to 1700 hrs on Friday 23rd October.

We hope this does not cause you any inconvenience and we look forward to seeing you at the next one! 🫶

Another Great South Run thank you! 🏃‍♂️

We’re delighted to share that Gary Peake, an RAF veteran and good friend to one of our VOS members, was our fourth Great South Run fundraiser for Veterans Outreach Service (VOS).

Gary’s amazing effort helped raise an additional £330, bringing the grand total raised for VOS through the Great South Run to an incredible £3,170! 👏

Gary said:

"The Great South Run was my first event since having double heart surgery, I chose to run for VOS because I wanted to support my good friend who told me he has had support from VOS for sometime now and you've really helped - so I wanted to give back to your amazing veterans' charity. I know that if I lived closer to Portsmouth I would be there asking for help."

A huge thank you to Gary - your added contribution will help VOS continue supporting veterans and their families across the Solent region.
