🥵 Scorchio! 🥵

☀️ Plymouth is set for a scorcher! ☀️

With near-record temperatures forecast over the next few days please take extra care of yourselves, your pets and vulnerable people around you - particularly children and elderly people.

A couple of simple tips to remember ⬇️

💧 Keep topped up with water, especially if you’re out and about enjoying the sunshine.

🌞 Remember sunscreen, hats and a bit of shade during the hottest part of the day.

🌊 Heading for the sea, a local lake or a river? Get in gradually rather than jumping straight into cold water.

🧊 No air conditioning? Try placing a bowl of iced water in front of a fan for a cooler breeze.

🏠 Keep curtains or blinds closed on sunny windows during the day, then let the cooler evening air in when temperatures start to drop.

👋 If you have older neighbours, relatives or friends, a quick check-in can go a long way during very hot weather.

And don’t forget our four-legged friends! 🐶🐱

💧 Make sure pets always have access to fresh water and shade.

🐾 Avoid hot pavements, which can burn paws.

🚶 Consider early morning or evening walks when it’s cooler.

🚗 And never leave animals in parked vehicles, even for a short time.

Stay safe and enjoy the glorious weather ☀️

Good morning☀️

With the heat wave forecast this week, and after carefully considering both the cafe team’s wellbeing and the customer experience, we will be making temporary changes to reduce the heat source in the kitchen.

The girls work incredibly hard in these temperatures and we appreciate your patience if your favourite dish is temporarily unavailable or if things take a little longer to prepare, as it may be cooked from scratch. You can help reduce your wait time and call ahead to order on 01752 202118.

You may find a limited menu but fear not, full offer will resume by the end of the week as temperatures start to drop again.

Thank you so much for all the continued support, patience, and love for our community cafe — it genuinely means the world to us.

Enjoy this beautiful weather but please take good care of yourselves whilst doing so ☀️
