🌿 Supporting a Place of Love, Remembrance and Hope 💜
At Derriford Hospital sits the beautiful Forever & Always Garden, cared for by The Phoebe Hoskin Trust. It is a peaceful sanctuary where families who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a child can reflect, remember and feel close to their loved ones. Every statue, plaque and memorial within the garden represents a precious life that will never be forgotten.
Sadly, this special place was recently targeted by vandals in an act that left families devastated. A memorial statue, which had stood in the garden since it first opened as a symbol of stillbirth and miscarriage, was damaged beyond repair. Memorial plaques were destroyed, treasured keepsakes were broken or thrown into the pond and road, and items were stolen from the garden's storage shed. What may have looked like objects to those responsible represented so much more to the families who visit the garden; they represented their children, their memories and the love they continue to carry every single day.
This cause is especially close to home for all of us at Beyond Limits. The Phoebe Hoskin Trust was founded by our colleague, Jade Hoskin, in memory of her daughter, Phoebe. Through incredible dedication, Jade has created a place that has brought comfort, peace and hope to countless bereaved families across our community.
Today marks the beginning of Beyond Limits' fundraising efforts to help restore and support this incredible space.
