Update: what a fantastic response to our pea shoot offer! 30 primary school children went home with kits yesterday and 20 customers received them today. We have also had enquiries from local schools wanting to get involved in the project.

Thanks to Fareshare South West, we have 40kg of dried peas to give away. Soak them, plant them and you'll have pea shoots for salads, stir fries, sandwiches and soups within 2 weeks!

They're really easy to grow - you don't need a garden, just a sunny windowsill! Comment below if you'd like to collect some, we'll get back to you later today.

A former historic space inside Devonport Guildhall is now being used in a very different way…

Artist Rosie Perdikeas works from a studio within the building.

Her background includes professional work in theatre and dance, with experience connected to major companies including the Royal Opera House, Sadler’s Wells Theatre, and English National Opera.

Her current practice focuses on visual and mixed-media work, drawing on rhythm, the body, and lived experience — exploring how movement and sensation can be translated into painting, print, and artistic expression.

But it’s the setting that really stops you in your tracks.

Thick historic walls… now holding bold, experimental creativity.

Old civic space — reimagined.

From restriction to expression… from past to present.

Avast ye shipmates, scallywags and landlubbers! Lay a course for Devonport park this Sunday the 10th May, and swing into action for a pirate-themed junior pARRkrun as we join in with the spirit of the Plymouth Pirates Weekend! 🏴‍☠️⚓

All are encouraged to dress up in their finest pirate fancy dress, from the youngest powder monkeys to the oldest deckhands (i.e. parents). This is not compulsory, but would be great fun! 🦜🐒

As always, before we send out the press gangs, we be on the lookout for willing volunteers to marshal, timekeep, set-up the event and barcode scan. We're also in need of a tail walking team to cover our stern. So don't be a scrimshanker and offer assistance today! 🙋🏻🙏🏻
