Our Story
Devonport Park Activity Centre is a Routeways project. We deliver a range of fun, challenging activities for children and young people of all abilities, offering access to a natural environment in the heart of the City. These activities include horticulture, outdoor education, creative play, personal development and mental well-being. Our fabulous Devonport Park Activity Centre has extensive outdoor facilities including: purpose built sense aware space, pizza oven, fire pit, soft play area,poly-tunnels, secret garden and “castle” play areas, pond, as well as a fully equipped modern kitchen, classroom/meeting room , and quiet room. We currently offer several groups (some of which include a small charge), including:
16-24 years Skills and Challenges group for young people with learning disabilities Senior Rooted (13-18 years) Junior Rooted (8-13 years) Little Seeds (pre-school stay and play, all abilities), In Other Words (support and CAMHS participation group for young people with an experience of mental health issues aged 16 - 24 years) Children's Minds ~ Families Matter for families of young children with mental and emotional health issues. This is jointly hosted by Plymouth Parent Carer Voice with CAMHS and the Child Development Centre present at each meeting (CAMHS parent participation group), Volunteers (adults of all abilities), Short Breaks holiday activities for young people registered with Inclusion Works. THE Family Space for families in emergency and temporary accommodation.
