We’re very conscious that the weather is looking awful in the coming hours and days.

In the circumstances of weather warnings we always caution our clients and collaborators not to travel to our centre unless absolutely necessary.

As such, our scheduled clay making activity tomorrow is being postponed to another date.

The centre will be open with limited staff. Please stay home, warm and dry and avoid travel to the centre unless absolutely necessary.

Feel free to contact the team by phone or email if you have any support needs across the day.

Massive thanks to all the team (especially Michelle and Paul) at Plymouth Argyle Football Club and Argyle Community Trust for their wonderful offer of a free accessible tour of Home Park - with some fantastic, “behind the scenes” sights and experiences for our clients and colleagues.

We cannot thank you enough for your generosity in providing such a welcoming and fascinating community trip for us.

Note: Pete may have got a bit dizzy about it all!

A welcome return to Headway House today by Emma and the team from Mindful Art Club CIC - who treated us to a mosaic making session.

Smiles and bright colours filled the centre as our clients and teams were also joined by our brilliant new Pathway for Progression student, Josh from City College Plymouth Higher Education.

Art is a valuable support brain injury recovery by improving memory, concentration, coordination and problem-solving. It encourages emotional expression, reduces stress and anxiety, builds confidence and self-esteem, and supports communication.

Creative activities can also improve fine motor skills, promote independence and provide enjoyment, purpose and a sense of achievement.

Looking forward to more spooky themed arts and crafts later this month ahead of Halloween.
