What is the Eddystone Pursuit?
An exciting sailing challenge from Plymouth out to the iconic Eddystone Lighthouse and back.

What is the Eddystone Lighthouse?
The famous lighthouse standing off the coast of Plymouth—an unforgettable landmark and the heart of the challenge.

Why take part?
Because by sailing for us, you’ll help hundreds of children and adults across Plymouth access the water and discover sailing—creating the city’s next generation of sailors, whatever their background.

What do I need to enter?
• A seaworthy boat
• A willingness to do some fundraising
• Excitement for a great day of sailing

Looking for a role where you can truly make a difference? ⛵

We’re recruiting a Permanent, Full-Time Senior Instructor to join Horizons Plymouth—supporting young people and communities through inclusive watersports programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
🔸 Support with all aspects of the Horizons delivery programme
🔸 Delivery of RYA Courses in the National and Youth dinghy, keelboat and powerboat schemes
🔸 Delivery of a wide variety of charitable programmes to local communities and organisations. This will include meaningful work with young people and adults with a variety of additional needs.

Earlier this month, some of our Winter Youth Programme young people headed off to Avon Tyrrell on a fully funded residential, supported by UK Youth.

From the moment they arrived, it was incredible to see them step outside their comfort zones, build new friendships and fully embrace every opportunity on offer.

Whether it was scaling new heights through climbing, testing their focus with archery, or even trying their hand at pirateering, their confidence grew day by day

We feel so grateful to have received this funding, experiences like this open doors, inspire ambition and create memories that will stay with these young people for a lifetime.

We couldn’t be prouder of everyone who took part and the way they supported and encouraged each other throughout the trip.

This is exactly why we do what we do and we’re so excited to keep creating more opportunities like this for young people across Plymouth in sailing and future skills.
