Today is World Sight Day 💙

This year’s “Love Your Eyes” campaign reminds us that every story counts. At VisionPK, we know how much the right support can mean when someone experiences sight loss.

Our Chair, Dr Beena Raschkes, knows this first-hand. When she began losing her sight, support and advice from VisionPK helped her adapt and continue working as a GP. Now, she helps guide the charity that supported her.

Her story is a reminder that support after sight loss can help people keep doing the things that matter to them.

Across Perth and Kinross, we’re here to help people build confidence, maintain independence and live life on their own terms.

What’s on at the Sensory Hub this week? 👀💜

We’ve got a varied week coming up from 14–18 September, with opportunities to get active, connect with others and access support. Activities include Accessible Swimming, ChairTastic, a Boccia taster session, plus our regular Sight and Hearing Loss drop-ins.

Please note there are no activities scheduled at the Sensory Hub on Thursday 17 September.

What a brilliant morning at ! 🛶🏹🪓

This week, the VisionPK team joined some of our service users for a fun-filled morning in Perth, taking on canoeing, axe throwing and archery.

There were plenty of laughs, lots of encouragement and more than a little friendly competition along the way! It was a fantastic chance to try something different, build confidence and enjoy time together in the great outdoors.

A huge thank you to the team at Willowgate Adventure Centre for making everyone feel so welcome and helping make the morning such an enjoyable one. 💙

We’re already looking forward to the next adventure!

As part of Funeral Link's expansion into Tayside, aided by NHS Tayside Charitable Foundation funding, we have met many organisations in Perth & Kinross in the last week, including Perth and Kinross Citizens Advice Bureau, VisionPK and PKAVS Carers Centre and, yesterday, Reid met Katrina Hartnett at Perth Crematorium (Perth and Kinross Council). Join VisionPK for an unforgettable Firewalk in the heart of Perth! Step across hot coals, take on an incredible personal challenge and raise funds to support the work of your local sight and hearing loss charity.

📍 Horsecross Plaza, opposite Perth Concert Hall
🔥 Firewalk begins at 6pm

All participants must attend a training session at 4.30pm at the VisionPK Sensory Hub, 17–19 George Street, Perth.
