As one exhibition nears its end another is being prepared
Only a few days left to visit the Shap Granite exhibition which closes on Saturday 5th September.
On Saturday 12th September till Saturday 9th October we will be showcasing the ceramic work of Heather Armstrong

There has been a lot of interest in our exhibition and talks on Shap granite and the works.
If you were not able to go to Jean Scott Smiths talk/presentation on the 'Housing and People associated with the Shap Granite Works'. She will be presenting it again this Saturday, 29th August. The gallery will be open from 7pm, talk starts 7.30pm.
The exhibition closes on 5th September.

It was a busy day on last Saturday first with a visit to Shap Pink quarry where we had an interesting talk from the quarry manager and then in the evening Jean Scott Smith's talk on 'Housing and People'. The library room was full, mainly with people who had family connections with the quarry. Jean was delighted to be able to put some more names to the people in the old pictures.
Jean is repeating her talk on the history of the quarry this Saturday 22nd at 7.30pm, exhibition open from 7.00pm.
