We're looking forward to walking these sections of the Thames Path National Trail through the Arcadian Thames from Walton-on-Thames to Kew, a very beautiful part of the River Thames, and seeing how the Thames Landscape Strategy is developing flood-resilient environments.

Join the Thames Path Relay Walk 🚶‍♀️🌊🌳

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Thames Path, we're hosting two relay walk sections along the beautiful Arcadian Thames with Thames Path National Trail

Tuesday 23rd June: Walton-on-Thames to Kingston
Setting off from Felix Road Rec Ground at 10:30 am

Wednesday 24th June: Kingston to Kew
Setting off from The Boaters Inn, Canbury Gardens, at 10:30 am

This is a chance to connect with the river, meet others who care about its future, and celebrate the Thames as a living landscape - shaped by nature, history and the communities alongside it.

You don’t need to commit to the whole walk—you’re very welcome to join for a short section, hop on and off along the route, or simply come for a highlight stop or break point. Every step shared helps celebrate this special anniversary.

Gorgeous walking weather for Day 10 of the Thames Path Relay celebrating the 30th anniversary of the opening of the National Trail. Thank you to Ruth from Thame & Wheatley Ramblers who led the walk from Day's Lock, in the lee of Wittenham Clumps, to Wallingford via the new walkway across Benson Weir.
We were joined today by several people who had been on previous legs of the Relay. They love it so much some will be with us tomorrow 😍👏 from Wallingford to Goring.
Jason Debney, resident of Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, local historian and all-round River Thames and Thames Path enthusiast was also with us to give fascinating talks about wildlife, history and the creation of the Thames Path, and your photos. Thank you, Jason 🤩🤩

Veronique Chance ran the Thames Path from Source to Sea wearing a camera to create a dramatic artwork which was exhibited in the Totally Thames Festival. Veronique took 240 photographs - one at every mile between the source of the River Thames in Gloucestershire and Grain on the north Kent coast.

Join a River Walk at Kelmscott Manor in the company of poet Robert Seatter and artist Jessica Palmer, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Thames Path.

The River Walks on Friday 26th June will be gentle rambles, reflecting on what rivers mean to all of us. Robert and Jessica will explore the gardens and wider landscape of Kelmscott Manor and the River Thames that so inspired William Morris’s designs and writings.

You will hear new and original poems commissioned for the 30th anniversary of the Thames Path National Trail, be inspired to write some texts of your own, and look closely at wildflowers, birds and trees to create a sequence of sketches.

Day 9 of the Thames Path Relay set off from Abingdon, led by Thames Path volunteer Sue with a friendly group in perfect weather for walking the National Trail through Oxfordshire.
Luna sniffed the Acorn Baton, but did not chew, and it was safe for Sue to share with Lock-keepers at Culham and Clifton, where Curtis provides delicious ice-creams and keeps a beautiful garden.
This section finished at Day's Lock beneath Wittenham Clumps with a baton hand-over to Ruth from Thame & Wheatley Ramblers who will lead Sunday's leg from Day's Lock to Wallingford, starting at 10am. Come and join us!
