🌍 The UK still has a budget for international development—and for more international climate finance. That money must be used strategically.

🌾 Investing in regenerative agriculture across climate frontlines isn’t just good policy—it’s smart defence. It builds climate resilience, boosts food security, and addresses what could be the UK’s most imminent strategic threat: a destabilising climate.

📢 The full case is laid out today’s Guardian:

🌍 Exciting Update from Cameroon! 🚜

Francesco Carnevale Zampaolo from SRI-2030 recently visited the villages of Bamenjou and Koutaba, making great strides in their journey to implement SRI (System of Rice Intensification). A huge thank you to the CIPCRE team for their warm welcome and excellent organisation, which made this visit both smooth and productive! 👏

Francesco visited Bamenjou due to its strong partnership with CIPCRE and its keen interest in growing rice without continuous flooding. In Koutaba, the community was eager to explore the potential of SRI, particularly in addressing labour shortages. Koutaba has 3,000 hectares of arable land, but can only farm 700 due to limited labour. The idea of cultivating more land with fewer workers was of great interest to them, leading to a warm reception from the village chief. 🌱

Both villages were excited to hear Francesco’s and our colleagues’ stories, as all parties worked together to develop a strategic plan for implementing SRI in the coming months. 🗓️

Celebrating Progress in Senegal with the Project!

Congratulations to the RICOWAS Project for their incredible strides in expanding the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) in 13 countries in West Africa. In Senegal, the project is implemented by , the National Agency for Agricultural and Rural Advisory Services.

Our Programme Director, Francesco Carnevale Zampaolo, recently joined the ANCAR team in a field visit to the village of Finthiok, commune of Koubalan, in Southern Senegal, where an inspiring SRI demonstration plot has been established. This site will be a powerful example for neighbouring farmers as ANCAR trainers spread the knowledge from village to village.

The project’s impact is gaining recognition, with a major news station featuring it! This momentum created by the RICOWAS project brings Senegal closer to increasing domestic rice production and reducing reliance on imports.

Thank you, RICOWAS, ANCAR and the people of Finthiok for the opportunity to follow closely your transformative work!

🌍 Exciting News! SRI-2030 has been longlisted for the Food Planet Prize 2025! 🌾🎉

Through increased yields, reduced methane emissions and enhanced climate resilience, the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) benefits both farmers and the planet. We're excited to see its global potential recognised at this level.

Let’s keep driving sustainable change together! 💪🌱
