Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for the Celebration Evening yesterday. It was truly wonderful to see so many local groups and organisations coming together.

Special thanks go to Ross Campbell and Phil Murray for hosting and presenting so brilliantly, and to Sally-Ann White and Clare Martyn for their invaluable support in making the evening run so smoothly.

We are also very grateful to The Cottles Club, Okehampton Music Centre, and Wren Okey Music Day for their contributions.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to Chris Owen, who has retired as Treasurer after 15 years of dedicated service.

Its Back! 2026 Celebration Evening.

Trustees would like to invite you to come along to the 2026 Celebration Evening.

Meet the Trustees and some of the 50 or so local organisations the charity supports.

We will have refreshments and performances from The Cottles Club, Okehampton Music Centre and Wren Music.

We hope to see you to celebrate all thats great about Okehampton and the Hamlets.

The charity’s trustees are always working to balance the needs of our agricultural tenants while allowing as much public access to the land as possible.

If you regularly walk on Ball Hill, you may have noticed some new fencing. This has been put in place to help keep our tenants’ livestock safe.

You’ll also see some new permissive access at the top of the college fields, giving walkers an alternative space.

We know changes can take a little getting used to, but this is a very popular area and we want it to work as a shared space for everyone. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us make it work.

So long, Farewell, Auf widersehen, Goodnight!

It is with great sadness that Okehampton United Charities bids farewell to Christine Marsh as a long-standing Trustee. Christine has served the charity since before 2001 and, during that time, has given exceptional service as Chair, Chair of Estates, and as a valued member of the Grants Committee.
Throughout her many years as a Trustee, Christine has demonstrated outstanding commitment and integrity. She has never shied away from difficult decisions in the boardroom, nor from the practical challenges of managing the charity’s land and estates. Her dedication, experience, and hands-on approach have made a lasting contribution to the charity.
While Christine is stepping down from her role with Okehampton United Charities, she remains actively involved in charitable work and will continue her trusteeships with organisations including Simmons Homes, St James Chapel, and ORIG.
Thank you, Christine. Your contribution has been immense, and you will be greatly missed.
