Thanks to Radio Skye for helping us raise awareness about the price cap increases, support for heating oil and RTS meters.

Energy regulator Ofgem has announced the latest price cap.

It means an annual increase of £60 compared with the previous cap. The rise will take effect from October.

The cap sets an upper limit that providers can charge customers on a variable tarrif. Households on a fixed rate won't be subject to the increase.

In Skye, Raasay and Lochalsh, many people rely on heating oil. It does not come under the price cap.

Donnie Mackay from ALIenergy told Radio Skye:

"Most folk in Skye and Lochalsh don't have mains gas. The key issue for us is the price of heating oil. Heating oil is still currently over £1 a litre. This is the highest it's been for a long, long time and this has the biggest impact on Skye homes."

We couldn’t be prouder of our Chief of Operations, Rachel McNicol, for being selected as one of just 30 female leaders to take part in the HIE Impact Women Programme. 👏❤️

Over the past four months, she has stepped outside her comfort zone, developed her confidence, built new connections and embraced every opportunity the programme has offered.

Finishing with a Dragons’ Den-style pitch in front of 50 business leaders, funders and investors is an incredible achievement — and a brilliant example of what can happen when you back yourself and take that leap.

It’s fantastic to see Rachel investing in her own development and representing both herself and ALIenergy so brilliantly.

A huge well done on an amazing achievement! We’re excited to see where this experience takes you next.
