The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race is coming to Oban in July and we have an exciting programme lined up whether you're a member, are a visitor or just want to join in part of the fun as you're sailing in the area at this time!

On Saturday 11th July we have our Oban on the Water day with opportunities for those new to sailing to have a go, kindly supported by coaches from RYA Scotland. We have also teamed up with Lorn Coastal Rowing Club, Oban Canoe Club and Kerrera Marina for a fun packed day.

Sunday 12th July is our Club keelboat race

Monday 13th July sees our regular Monday Mayhem evening

Tuesday 14th July is Keelboat racing in the bay

Friday 17th July - 1/2 day sail on a Clipper boat for our young people - this is a members only event

Friday 17th July - Tenacity: Stories of courage at sea over at Kerrera marina with Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, Oliver Cotterell, Heather Thomas and Maartje van Jujstee. Tickets on sale now!

Saturday 18th July - Oban Open Regatta - a keelboat regatta open to any and all visiting yachts to celebrate the Clippers being in town. Details to be published shortly. Perfect if your boat is in Oban between the Round Mull Race and West Highland Yachting Week 😜

Sunday 19th July - Parade of Sail - an opportunity to sail around the bay as the clippers depart and then out to Dunstaffnage to watch the race start

Argyll and Bute Council – Welfare Rights Drop-In at the Dove Centre
The next drop-in session will take place on Tuesday, 26th May.
The Welfare Rights Team aims to ensure that residents of Argyll and Bute are not missing out on their entitlement to both UK and Scottish Government administered benefits. They also carry out benefits checks and help with completing forms. They can also provide support representation at Appeal Tribunals.
The Welfare Rights Team provides an enhanced service specifically for people affected by cancer.
