We were back working with the p6, p7 outdoor adventure learning group from St Columba's Primary School today. The team were so happy to back outside after their summer break. A day of contrasts today, their goal to get to the summit! The highlight being reaching and being in the clouds. The experience of the change of atmosphere and conditions was powerful for them. Lots of discussion about flora, the weather and how we look after ourselves in the hills. And simply they had a lot of fun whilst learning new things.

Congratulations to Mike McIver who has successfully completed his 60 mile fund raiser for his 60th birthday. What an achievement. Thank you from all the team at Hebridean Pursuits Outdoor Learning for raising nearly £2,000, which will allow many young people in the Oban area to have a day of outdoor activities, starting with a group from Oban Youth Cafe Project during the October holidays. Good luck today Mike. All the best from all the team and trustees from Hebridean Pursuits Outdoor Learning. And a big thank you. Many young people in Oban will now be able to enjoy a day of outdoor activities with us.

🎉 Shout out to Mike McIver who, later this month, is impressively taking on a sponsored run in aid of Hebridean Pursuits Outdoor Learning 🎉

Mike is turning 60 this year, and to celebrate he has decided to run 60 miles and raise money for us in the process! He’ll be running on Saturday 22nd August, starting at the House of Bruar at 4am…and hoping to finish at his house by 8pm 🏃

His donations will allow us to run several day projects with school children in the Oban and Argyll area, letting them experience the outdoors in a fun and exhilarating way ⛰

So far Mike has raised an incredible £1,595 🤩 Can you help him raise more?

Today's classroom for outdoor adventure learning with more intrepid P7 pupils from St.Columba's primary school from Oban.

Back to school and back out into the outdoor classroom for the new P7's today. We introduced new skills and techniques building on their previous experiences. Everyone worked so well together and encouraged each other!

Whilst one team were climbing the others were Coasteering.

Another bunch of P7's will be out tomorrow with us having adventures and learning at the sametime.

Hebridean Pursuits Outdoor Learning are delighted to be a part of this fantastic community event. Great to see so many happy faces!
Thanks to all involved and to funders including Oban High School, The Rotary Club of Oban and Argyll Beats Cardiovascular Disease Oban.

We are so pleased to have been able to fund a residential for the amazing young people from to join us in Glencoe for a week of adventures and a respite break.

We are really proud to have been able to fund raise for and work with young people and their leaders from Police Scotland Youth Volunteers today. We're looking forward to seeing more of their members joining us again soon.
