We hope everyone had a great parkrun this morning. Huge thanks to our marshals who got into the dressing up spirit. And a special shout out to Ryan S who stepped in at the last minute to Run Direct, letting the poorly Ryan BN rest his bones.

👻 BEWARE… YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! 🎃

There is only ONE place to be this Saturday… BESTWOOD VILLAGE parkrun!

Anyone who dares to miss it might find themselves haunted by ghosts, chased by witches, cursed by something lurking in the woods… or WORST OF ALL… attacked by the infamous Bestwood hornets! 🐝

You can run, you can hide, but there’s no escaping them! Whether it’s ghosts, witches or hornets coming after you, your safest option is to get yourself down to Bestwood!

Fancy dress is optional, but highly recommended. There may even be some sweet treats waiting for those brave enough to make it to the finish!

Don’t risk it… join us Saturday at 9am. It’s probably safer than staying at home! 🎃👻

🎃🐝 THE HORNETS HAVE BEEN WARNED… IT’S HALLOWEEN AT BESTWOOD! 👻

The hornets may have forced us off our usual course, but they haven’t managed to sting our sense of humour! 😂

We’re still buzzing along on our B Course while we wait for our uninvited guests to disappear… and this Saturday, our very own Run Director Lauren will be joining the buzz in an inflatable bee costume! 🐝🤣

Whether she’s trying to negotiate a peace treaty with the hornets or hoping they’ll mistake her for one of their own, we’re not quite sure! We just hope she can still see where she’s going! 😂

🎃 HALLOWEEN PARKRUN – SATURDAY 31ST OCTOBER 👻

Fancy dress is optional but HIGHLY recommended! So dig out your spookiest, silliest and most ridiculous outfits and come and join us for a frightfully good 5K.

🧙‍♀️ Witches, welcome!
🧛 Vampires, bring it on!
💀 Skeletons, shake those bones!
🐝 Hornets… YOU’RE STILL NOT INVITED!

🍬 And there’s a treat in store! We’ll have some sweet treats waiting for you afterwards, because 5K deserves a little reward… and even the bravest ghosts need a sugar fix! 👻🍭

Bestwood Village #435 17th October 2026 Posted on October 21, 2026 by bestwoodvillageoffice The sun was shining across Bestwood on Saturday at 9am, and what a cracking morning for a parkrun! The course was mainly dry and ideal for our walkers, joggers, and runners with an ambient temperature of 7°C...
