🌈 This Pride Month, we come together across the UK with a shared commitment to inclusion, compassion, and equality, united by the message that Pride is for all of us. 🀝

πŸ’œ It’s a time to celebrate the diversity of our LGBTQ+ colleagues, patients, and communities, while recognising that true equality in healthcare means ensuring every voice is heard, respected, and valued. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ©Ί

Together, we can help create environments where everyone feels safe, supported, and empowered to be themselves. ✨🌟

🌟 National Learning Disability Week 🌟

This week, Bulwell and Top Valley PCN is proud to celebrate National Learning Disability Week β€” a time to raise awareness, promote inclusion, and recognise the amazing contributions people with learning disabilities make in our communities. πŸ’™

We’re committed to helping create opportunities for people to stay active, connected, and supported. One of the ways we do this is through our fun and inclusive Boccia sessions, where people can enjoy gentle physical activity, build confidence, and meet others in a welcoming environment. 🎯

There are also many fantastic organisations locally and nationally offering support, advice, activities, and advocacy for people with learning disabilities and their families, including:
πŸ’™ Mencap
πŸ’™ Speakup Self Advocacy
πŸ’™ Autism East Midlands
πŸ’™ NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Learning Disability Services
πŸ’™ Special Olympics Great Britain

Everyone deserves equal access to healthcare, opportunities, friendships, and a sense of belonging. Let’s continue working together to build more inclusive communities where everyone can thrive. 🌈

πŸ’™ Diabetes Week πŸ’™

This Diabetes Week, Bulwell and Top Valley PCN is helping raise awareness of diabetes and the importance of support, education, and healthy living for everyone affected by the condition.

Living with diabetes can feel challenging at times, but no one has to manage it alone. The monthly Diabetes Peer Support Group offers a welcoming space for people to connect, share experiences, learn more about managing diabetes, and support one another 🀝
πŸ“… They meet on the fourth Thursday of each month, 2-4pm at Mellish Sports Centre, Bulwell, NG6 9FH and regularly have guest speakers sharing their knowledge and expertise.

There are also many fantastic organisations providing advice, guidance, and support for people living with diabetes, including:
πŸ’™ Diabetes UK
πŸ’™ NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme
πŸ’™ JDRF UK
πŸ’™ Nottinghamshire Diabetes Services
πŸ’™ Local community wellbeing and healthy lifestyle programmes

Small changes can make a big difference β€” whether it’s staying active, attending health checks, learning more about nutrition, or simply reaching out for support.

Let’s continue working together to improve awareness, reduce stigma, and help people live well with diabetes 🌟

This Diabetes Week, let's change how we talk about diabetes. 8 out of 10 people living with diabetes say they’ve faced negative attitudes because of their diabetes - people passing judgement, making sweeping statements, or blaming and shaming people living with diabetes. This is diabetes stigma. A...

πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸŒΏ Step Into Better Health with Walking! πŸŒΏπŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ

Looking after your health doesn’t always mean intense workouts or expensive gym memberships. Sometimes, the simplest step is literally… a step. πŸ‘£

Walking is one of the easiest and most powerful ways to improve both physical and mental wellbeing. Whether it’s a stroll around the park, walking to the shops, joining a local walking group, or getting off the bus one stop earlier β€” every step counts.

This week, challenge yourself to take a few extra steps each day. Your body and mind will thank you for it.

πŸ‘Ÿ Start where you are.
πŸ‘Ÿ Walk at your own pace.
πŸ‘Ÿ Celebrate every step forward.
