Meet Dobby, one of our much-loved pygmy goats!

You can spot him easily by his impressive long beard, which makes him look wise and a little dramatic, though anyone who knows Dobby will tell you he’s far more mischievous than wise. 😂

Dobby has always been quite the character. For a long time, his favourite way of saying hello was with a very enthusiastic headbutt… and yes, he has knocked one or two of us over in the past! He also dislikes social workers, and can spot them a mile off and you’re guaranteed to see his hackles rise 😂

Thankfully, these days Dobby is a little more polite with his greetings, but he still has plenty of personality and knows exactly how to make himself noticed.

He’s cheeky, confident, full of character, loves a good head scratch 💚

Have you met Dobby yet?

🌟 Meet Tom 🌟

Tom’s Animal Antiks journey started as a student, and now he’s a full-time member of our Animal Care team! 🐑🐐🐴

Over the years, Tom has grown in confidence, developed brilliant practical skills, and become such an important part of daily life here at the farm. He knows our animals incredibly well; from their routines and personalities to the little quirks that make each one special.

Tom is always willing to get stuck in, whether he’s helping with daily animal care, lending a hand around the farm, or tackling the less glamorous jobs that still need doing, like staying up in middle of the night lambing.

When he’s not helping Sarah on the animal side of things, you can often find Tom helping farmer Nick in the workshop!

His journey is a brilliant example of what Animal Antiks is all about: building confidence, learning practical skills, finding purpose, and discovering what you’re capable of in a supportive environment.

We’re so proud of how far Tom has come, and we’re incredibly lucky to have him as part of the Animal Antiks team. 💚

Good Animals of the Week

This week’s good animal award goes to Plod and JB! 🐴

Both boys are currently under strict instructions from the vet to stay in the barn while they recover from laminitis.

Now, if you’ve ever tried telling a horse that they can’t go out into the field, you’ll know it’s not always a popular decision! 😅

But Plod and JB have been absolute stars. They’ve been taking their treatment in their stride, staying settled in the barn, and making life much easier for the team who are helping them recover

Naughty Animal of the Week: Moriarty

This week’s award goes to Moriarty, who clearly wasn’t impressed with Sarah’s latest observation… 😂

While feeding the alpacas, Sarah made the mistake of commenting that Moriarty was looking slightly grey these days.

Moriarty took this as a personal attack on his appearance and decided the appropriate response was to try and kick her. 😳🦙

Thankfully, his aim wasn’t quite as good as his dramatic reaction, and Sarah escaped unharmed!

We still think you’re handsome, Moriarty. Even if you are getting a few silver highlights. ✨

🪵 Something exciting is being made in our workshop...

Our learners have been hard at work measuring, cutting, sanding and building, developing practical skills, confidence and teamwork along the way.

The finished product will be heading to our shop soon, but we’re not giving too much away just yet! 👀

Can you guess what they’re making? Drop your guesses in the comments! ⬇️

Meet Sonic the chicken 🐓

Sonic is one of our bare neck chickens, and his name suits him perfectly!

Whenever it’s time to move the chickens to a new location, Sonic suddenly becomes very busy…zooming off in the opposite direction.

Fast and always keeping us on our toes, that’s
Sonic
