We're a working farm offering animal and garden based activities for people facing the challenges of loneliness and mental health issues.

The Charity won Good Morning Britain's 1 Million Minutes Award for our work with animals to reduce loneliness. We are a charity offering activities for those facing the challenges around mental health issues and loneliness. From our farm in North Marston we run Wellbeing Walks, a Country Club and Farm Therapy sessions for people who want to get out and about in the fresh air or to meet our animals and make new friends. Our animals make fantastic confidants and they never judge so it's easy to feel relaxed and refreshed after a visit to us at Animal Antiks.

💚 Those ears aren’t just for looking cute! 🫏

Did you know that donkeys have some pretty cool abilities?

📣 That famous HEE-HAW! The sound a donkey makes is called braying. It’s one of the ways they communicate with each other, and their calls can travel surprisingly long distances!

👂 Incredible hearing! Those enormous ears aren’t just adorable! Donkeys have excellent hearing and can detect other donkeys calling from miles away, helping them stay connected across large distances.

☀️ Built-in cooling system! Their large ears also help regulate their body temperature. Blood vessels close to the skin allow heat to escape, helping them stay cooler in warm weather.

Pretty impressive for a pair of ears, don’t you think? 🫏💚

7 Different Steps of Learning: Mucking Out!

There’s a lot more learning happening during mucking out than you might think!

What might seem like a simple, everyday farm task actually provides opportunities to develop a wide range of practical and transferable skills.

Here are seven skills our learners can develop along the way:

🧹 Organisation – Planning the task, gathering equipment and following a routine.
⚠️ Health & Safety – Learning how to use equipment safely and recognising potential hazards.
💪 Physical Coordination – Developing strength, balance and motor skills through practical activities.
🐴 Animal Care & Responsibility – Understanding the importance of maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment for our animals.
🌱 Independence – Building confidence in completing tasks with increasing independence.
🧠 Problem-Solving – Learning to adapt when something doesn’t go to plan.
🤝 Teamwork & Communication – Working together, listening to instructions and supporting one another.

At Animal Antiks, everyday farm activities create valuable opportunities for our learners to develop skills that extend far beyond the farm 💚

Sheep can recognise faces…

👉 FACT!

Sheep are much more observant than they sometimes get credit for.

They’re able to recognise and remember individual faces, including other sheep and familiar humans.

So next time one of our sheep is staring at you across the field… they might actually know exactly who you are. 👀🐑
