We are incredibly proud of Belinda, her sister Sarah, and her team for taking on the 100km Jurassic Coast Path Ultra Challenge this weekend. Tackling some of the toughest terrain, they showed true determination as they powered through steep climbs, dramatic descents, and the elements.
By 2am on Saturday night, the team had reached an extraordinary 58km. While facing a few injuries along the way, Belinda and Sarah made the sensible decision to stop there, having already accomplished so much to be proud of.
Here's a little message from Belinda and Sarah:
"So not the medals we were after but an amazing achievement considering the route. The hills on the 1st half are brutal and just never end, plus the wind and rain did not make it any easier.
"We got to the 58km rest stop at around 2am which was 2 hours quicker than last year but we were feeling sick and aching, so decided to rest in the medical tent till 5am then decide our fate. Sarah hadn't eaten since about 2pm on the Saturday, so just had nothing left to give and still felt too sick to eat, and Belinda's body felt like it had been hit by 100 trucks. We made the hard decision to finish there and head home.
"Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, it really means a lot to Belinda and the staff at Circle Centre and even more so to the amazing kids that benefit from that hard work and dedication from the staff. That is only possible from your kind donations."
We think Belinda, Sarah and her team are superstars 🤩
