Fame Tickets On Sale Now!✨

This high-energy fundraising production takes place at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre on Sunday 2nd August, for a matinee and evening performance.

Based on the 1980s hit film, Fame the Musical tells the story of students at New York City’s Performing Arts. It will take you on a journey of ambition, love and heartache as we experience the highs and lows of a group of students on their mission for the ultimate reward for hard work and sweat – fame. But fame costs. Can these kids survive the pressures that threaten to run them off course?

A big thank you to our show sponsors Fairhive and Widmer End and District Funeral Directors, and show supporters and William Harding’s Charity.

Grab your legwarmers and get ready to sing and dance for a cause that matters - raising funds for specialist palliative and end-of-life care across Buckinghamshire and its borders.

🌟Book your tickets today by visiting our website - www.fnhospice.org.uk/fame

This International Nurses' Day we are highlighting Katie, our specialist lymphoedema practitioner based at Butterfly House near High Wycombe.

Katie switched from palliative care nursing to lymphoedema, helping patients to manage chronic swelling, which can result from lymphatic damage following surgery and radiotherapy.

She explains how she works with patients so that they can return to doing the things that make them happy:

“I always say it’s teamwork; I give patients the skills to help them manage the condition themselves.
“The aim is to reduce the swelling and the impact that this has on their lives.”

She treated a male patient with cancer of the tonsils who had head and neck lymphoedema; his enlarged neck made him very self-conscious.

I’ve treated him with Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) therapy, which has reduced the size of the lymphoedema and he feels like he’s owning his own body now, and his confidence has grown. He’s gone back to the gym, as doing weights and cardio is very important to him. I love that treatment can have a massive psychological impact and this man is now confident enough to go back to what he enjoys doing.”
